Mother’s Day Cleanup: SDGOP Keeps Gnawing on Clintons, Ignores Kristi-Kennedy Korruption

I’m generally avoiding Facebook and I prefer to ignore anonymi, but every now and then, some apt political commentary warrants an exception….

The South Dakota Republican Party celebrated Mother’s Day by continuing to snipe like it’s 2016, or 1996:

South Dakota Republican party, Mother's Day Facebook post, 2019.05.12.
South Dakota Republican party, Mother’s Day Facebook post, 2019.05.12.

The South Dakota Libertarian Party shares this fitting response from some Facebook anonymi:

Facebook cartoon, shared by Greg Baldwin, South Dakota Libertarian Party, 2019.05.12.
Author unknown, Facebook cartoon, shared by Greg Baldwin, South Dakota Libertarian Party, 2019.05.12.

The difference between the GOP’s Mother’s Day snark and the anonymous response is that the former is a spurious, unsubstantiated attack on people not in office, while the latter is an attack on a person occupying the highest office in South Dakota who used her position to do exactly what the cartoon bubble says she did.

Kudos to the Libertarians for holding the SDGOP’s and Noem’s feet to the fire. The 2nd one is a perfectly fitting cartoon.

The defaming of Chelsea Clinton was investigated by Factcheck some time ago. She has worked for a number of organizations, but I assume the reference in this attack ad is to her seat on the board of the roleClinton Foundation. In that role, she gives paid speeches, the proceeds of which gp to the Foundation. When Carly Fiorina stated that only 9% of the Foundation proceeds go to charitable causes, Factcheck filed a financial document request and determined that 89 percent of the proceeds go to charitable causes with the rest covering operating expenses. The Libertarian ad makes a salient point, but it ignores the fraud and the malice in the Clinton version.

The GOP has come to depend on feeding such malice and contriving defamations, especially in South Dakota, as the only play in its book. It lives for their version of the rapture when Al Capone will come again.

Speaking of corruption, Drumpf has a number of cases pending at the Spotus and coincidentally the veep creep, the cheap justice and Mitch McCTurtle were seen boarding AF 2 to go to Richard Lugar’s funeral.

I remember a short while back how wingnut heads exploded when Bill Clinton had a 20 minute meeting with Obama’s AG on a runway tarmac. Clinton had no cases in front of the Scotus then.

Alas, much as I don’t like Dr. Newquist’s theory that much of South Dakota’s politics is based on rank malice, the SDGOP’s behavior is forcing me to agree. What’s awful is that the SDGOP uses that malice because there are a lot of malicious South Dakotans who buy it, who would rather vote based on their visceral, unreasoning loathing of certain people and certain strawman-constructs than actually analyze facts, evidence, and Constitutional principles to weigh the merits of various public policies.
