Mike Rounds Hilariously Projects Trump Faults in Fundraising Pitch

Senator M. Michael Rounds has a new fundraising e-mail out, and it’s chock full of laugh lines.

The Democratic Party is moving even further to the left and we need your help to stop their liberal agenda of higher taxes, over-spending, open borders, and more government.  Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party have already taken control of the House of Representatives and now they want to take control of the U.S. Senate so they can advance their reckless agenda. They are raising money to target Republican Senate seats that are up in 2020, including South Dakota, so we must fight back [Rounds for Senate, fundraising e-mail, 2019.03.20].

Let’s talk about that word reckless. It describes action taken without reck, a fine old word (John Kennedy Claussen will appreciate this) meaning care, heed, regard.

I can guarantee you that pretty much every major policy Speaker Pelosi, Senator Sanders, Senator Warren, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg arises from great care, heed, and regard for facts, science, and humanity.

By contrast, the current leader of Mike Rounds’s party exemplifies a reckless approach to every aspect of governance. Whether it’s imposing tariffs that tax Americans and depress the farm economy, separating children from their parents without any plan for tracking and reuniting those families, alienating vital allies, revealing sensitive information, or declaring fake emergencies for political expediency, Donald Trump epitomizes action without care, heed, or regard for evidence or interests beyond but impulses. In filling some key posts with yes-men and yes-women and leaving other crucial Executive Branch positions vacant, Trump insulates his reckless impulses from correction or challenge. He then relies on invertebrates like Rounds to prevent Congress from asserting any proper Legislative check on his bad choices.

There is no D in recklessness; R is for reckless, and so are Rounds and Republicans.

Elsewhere in his request for cash, Rounds asserts that Republicans are “working hard,” which phrase he has obviously inverted and truncated by an -ly, and that Democrats will lead America down a path of deficit spending, which Rounds says straight-facedly as Donald Trump offers a budget that slashes vital public services and investments while still running trillion-dollar deficits for the next four years.

Stop the projection, Mike! Stop, stop, stop! You’re making me laugh so hard it hurts.

Rounds is working hard to outsource jobs…even in healthcare.

“Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare is looking to offshore roles throughout the organization to enhance efficiency, according to executive chairman and CEO Ronald Rittenmeyer’s Jan. 8 presentation at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.

Tenet, one of the nation’s major for-profit hospital operators, did not specify what areas of the organization would be affected. However, Mr. Rittenmeyer told The Dallas Morning News that Tenet will “look at aggressively” offshoring jobs “across the whole enterprise,” which includes Conifer Health Solutions, the company’s Frisco, Texas-based healthcare business services subsidiary.

Mr. Rittenmeyer told the publication that Tenet hadn’t determined how many workers would be displaced. He said he expects it will be more than 1,000 but “certainly not 10,000 or 5,000.”

“The number moves around, depending on what we’re looking at,” he added.”

But we have plenty of low level jobs out there if you want to sling crap or burgers, there is minimum wage plus a little bit. But don’t get cute, Artificial intelligence (Mike Rounds) is coming for those as well.

It has always amused me that republicans fear the Democratic Party is moving to the hard left, or it is too in the middle, or god forbid, become more like the republicans.
Democrats do need to go to the hard left, and soon. Keep in mind Franklin D. Roosevelt who built the greatest safety net for the elderly and the Democrats that added Medicare and Medicaid and other poverty era programs.
Democrats need to start acting and voting like Democrats.
Not a single South Dakota republican has yet to call out Mike Rounds over his defense of Trump and his “family values” claim for paying off a porn star.

Roger, my experience is that the GOP continues to label wherever the Democrats are as the “extreme left” so that their extreme right gets to be some new “center.” The genius of the GOP has not been their creep to the right; it has been their redefinition of the spectrum so that far right got defined as “center.”

Along the way, not letting 1% of the population have all the money, or treating people equally (even if they are not white males), or letting everyone enjoy the benefits of a prosperous nation, or fair pay for work, or treating the sick, or being stewards of the environment, all became “far left” issues — at least far left from where the GOP sits.

Pelosi controls Congress because the people decided wingnut taxcuts for the koch bros was not the direction they want the country to go in. Rounds and his lying, incorrigible goons in the wingnut party are chiefly responsible for debt and deficits and wars and they used 8 years of Obama’s attempts to starighten out the dumbass dubya recession to obstruct any and every program.

In other news, Trump, seemingly oblivious to the irony, calls George Conway a “husband from hell!” As Rounds said, Trump paid off his mistresses because he loves his family so much. GOP – the party of family values.

  6. Rounds must have not gotten the email that Pelosi isn’t the person to fear; it’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Those freshmen legislators are a powerful lot.

Besides liberal is so 2004. Now non-Republicans are progressive or socialist, even though Republicans making the charge cannot define either term.

As others have said, Republicans try to confuse voters by implying that the right is the center. More importantly, they don’t have an agenda. There’s no policy that they actually want to implement. I’m not sure they’ve had one since Reagan. All Rounds has to offer is fear because he’s afraid of Trump picking someone to primary him.

Thieves are stealing the Mexican wall!! I want my taxpayer money back.

“The concertina wire installed under the Trump administration to reinforce the U.S.-Mexico border is now being stolen and used to protect Tijuana residences as the city grapples with a surge in crime, officials confirmed Monday.

Thieves are stealing and selling the same concertina wire installed in November along the border by the Department of Homeland Security, and 15 to 20 arrests have already been made, city officials said.”https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/border-baja-california/sd-me-concertina-wire-tj-20190318-story.html

“The Democratic Party is moving even further to the left” so that the party is more in line with the needs of the American people.

” and we need your help to stop their liberal agenda” and end your health care, privatize Social Security and curb Medicare, not just For All, but for seniors, too

“…of higher taxes,” on billionaires who have been able to pay zero or much lower taxes than you through Republican-created loopholes

“…over-spending” that has led to tremendous Republican deficits.

“…open borders” that allowed the Rounds’ family to immigrate here

“…and more government” such as the false emergency measure that even Rep. Dusty Johnson thought was a fraud.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party have already taken control of the House of Representatives” Through fair elections that we Republicans want to end

“… and now they want to take control of the U.S. Senate,” through fair elections which Republicans are scheming with Russia to corrupt and overturn.

“…so they can advance their reckless agenda” of health care, infrastructure improvement, job creation, competence and oversight.

“They are raising money to target Republican Senate seats that are up in 2020, including South Dakota, so we must fight back “with Russian money and Russian hacking.”

And Mike-is not working. Oh but he is FIGHTING FOR THE BILLIONAIRES. AND HE SHOWED TRUMP HOW TO INVESTIGATIVE SUBPEONAS IN EB5! What a guy

    Grasping Old Perverts.

Whatever slimy thing they’re doing is what they try to pin on Democrats. They’ve been doing it for decades and now, with their own propaganda channels on tv and radio and the web, they’re better at it than ever.

I don’t know if they’ve become more hateful in the past 75 years or so, or just more public about. I think they’ve run off the less bigoted members so that they’re White Supremacists Inc.

Poor Drumpfy’s fefes were hurt because he got no thanks for the lovely funeral he gave John McCain. Haven’t heard a peep out of South Dakota or iowa’s wingnut congressional varmints. I guess they agree with him or at the very least do not disagree with him.

Republicans have bent over so far to appease the money in the country that they have exposed their “butt crack”…Donald Trump. Rounds can finally see his nose target. They do not deserve to be called Republicans any longer as they have become the Fascist Party of America which only listens to money and corporations and to hell with anyone who doesn’t have a billion or two.

  13. Adam

Mike Rounds and all rural Republicans live by their anti-liberal doctrine and baseless conspiracies. They feel they can defend things like Trump’s lies only because they are dishonest people.

Should they choose to embrace it, SD Dems have the most intimate and extensive experience and wisdom on why the U.S. needs to abolish the Electoral College – because our rural minority has now become a tyranny upon the majority of Americans and our Forefathers could never have forecasted such long term err by allowing the looser of a Presidential election to magically become the winner.

Maybe we need an Electoral College in South Dakota! – one that allows candidates like Billie Sutton to win every now and then (even when they lose the popular vote). Why not? – Afterall, conservatives wouldn’t want their majority to have too much power in state, like South Dakota, would they?

If South Dakota wants the Electoral College to keep determining who becomes President, then it should make its own statewide Electoral College who determines the Governor.

Think about it. If sometimes the loser should win (in order to keep the majority in check), then Billie Sutton should probably be the governor of South Dakota right now.

Wow, Marine Corps thinks Rounds/trump are detrimental to their mission. You cannot get anymore anti American than going against the Marine Corps. Of course, Rounds would have known that if he had ever served anything but his own self interests.

” The unplanned deployments of Marines along the U.S-Mexico border, among other unplanned demands has strained the force to the point that it faces “unacceptable risk to Marine Corps combat readiness,” Commandant Gen. Robert Neller said this week.

The March 18 memo, first reported by the Los Angeles Times, was addressed to Navy Secretary Richard Spencer as part of a lengthy request to seek funding relief for the Corps.

Without relief, the Corps would be forced to cancel a number of key exercises in Twentynine Palms, Alaska and Scotland, Neller warned, which would further degrade readiness.” https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2019/03/21/border-ops-straining-marine-corps-commandant-warns/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ebb%2022.03.19&utm_term=Editorial%20-%20Military%20-%20Early%20Bird%20Brief

The Marine Corps seems to be saying “trump and Rounds promised that Mexico would be building the wall, now it’s citizens are stealing it”. What about that Mikey?

Hilarious indeed, North Korea just made trump/republicans blink and trump lifted sanctions because he of the love he has for Kim. Otto, you were so yesterday. Pop the corks of the bubbly. Wonder what Mikey has to say about all of this, should be good.
