The only committee formed to support Amendment X, Senator Jim Bolin’s 55% vote threshold, is Dan Lederman’s Republican Ballot Question Committee, which also opposes W and IM 25. That committee reported no income or expenses on its pre-general report last week.
SD Voice is the only committee offering formal opposition to X. I spent $20.90 setting up a website… where I am now happy to post this fine video opposing this attack on our right to keep our constitution working:
Nice of some good citizen to produce that video.
If you’re really interested, you can also check out these slides that Senator Reynold Nesiba and I prepared this summer with some facts about why X rests on false theses and would fail to achieve its purported goals:
Good ad.
Mr. Bolin is a South Dakota patriot and a hero of many. I think the young man needs a lot of credit for what he has wrought, and will wright in the future. Besides, that Bolin fellow sports one of the best haircuts in the legislatures.
Mr. Bolin’s disdain for the voters does not square with “patriotism”.
Cory, where can we see and share the website $20.90 you mention above? :)
Poliglut! Nice to hear from you. Check out what $20.90 gets you at SDVoice.org, future home to any and all ballot measures supporting direct democracy.
The Strib has an article about citizen initiatives and mentions SD as the first state to permit that. Pros and cons are discussed. It’s here:
