Video: Lavallee Says Sutton Suggested She Run for Lt. Gov. Last September

Senator Billie Sutton is such a good candidate for governor that he turned lifelong Republican Michelle Lavallee into a Democrat. In her speech at the Brown County Democratic Party picnic yesterday here in Aberdeen, Lavallee said Sutton started that conversion in September 2017 when he first suggested she could be his running mate at the South Dakota Hall of Fame induction in Chamberlain:

Lavallee cited the internal poll Team Sutton released at the end of July claiming to show that with modest advertising, she and Sutton could pull within four points of the Republican ticket. Yesterday Lavallee claimed that another internal poll shows that Sutton is within two points of Noem.

The political ground will shake across the country if an independent poll shows this race within striking distance. If his internal polls shows Sutton is within two to four points, then an outside poll should be within a few points of that. This, before his advertising has been seen by most voters. No wonder Noem asked Trump to raise money for her. She may need to overwhelm him with attack ads to stay above water. And she better hope Sutton gives her something to attack… like Jackley did.

Noem may have suffered a mind change–I don’t think she really wants to be governor off SD anymore!

Burdette!?! Are you kidding me!?! I grew up within 4 miles of Burdette! Gross. Where did she live? Gross.

I’ve got to think about where people named Gross lived. She must be 15-20 years younger than me. I’m 65. We must have been neighbors, except she was a little brat and I was in high school.

    I’m flabbered and gasted.

Debbo, I’d never heard of Burdette until Democratic convention (the June edition)… and then heard of it the very next night as I drove home through Beadle and Spink County and heard the radio saying there was a tornado warning around Burdette.
