Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels endorses Larry Rhoden as a “tremendous choice” to replace him at the Senate dais:
Tony Venhuizen notes that Michels brought the mustache back to the lieutenant governor’s chair for the first time since the 1927–1929 term of Hyatt E. Covey. South Dakota had eleven mustachioed lieutenant governors in its first thirty years of statehood, then receded to hairless lippery for 82 years. In that regard, Michels has brought more welcome change to South Dakota than the net results of his boss’s administration.
Venhuizen notes that Kristi Noem’s Republican running mate Rhoden has been known to whisker up. Check out Rhoden’s Senate photo from the 2011 Blue Book:
I said it in 2014, and I’ll say it today: If Rhoden grows that mustache back, I’ll endorse him. Of course, if the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor can grow a comparable mustache, I’ll endorse and get into fistfights for her.

This is what passes as deep policy discussions in wingnut land. You want hairless? Get a Chihuahua- the really ugly ones.
“then receded to hairless lippery”
