The Brookings LEAD chapter has an interesting event planned for local candidates and voters on Sunday, March 25: a “Candi-Date Roundtable“—speed dating for candidates!
LEAD Brookings says in a press release that all nine candidates in the April 10 election in Brookings have RSVP’d:
- City Council two 3-year positions:
- City Council one 1-year position:
- School Board two 3-year positions:
Ten minutes with each small group, a moderator at each table to prevent fisticuffs and other distractions… sounds like fun!
Who is running for county commission?
Jeff, the Brookings Register says incumbents Lee Ann Pierce and Larry Jensen are running for reëlection while Stephne Miller is not. I don’t know if anyone else is running. Since they don’t stand for election until November, I suspect LEAD Brookings is waiting to host them in a speed-dating event until after the municipal and school board vote in April.
