I give Art Marmorstein a hard time for his column on race, and he still invites me to speak on campus! But he’s bringing muscle to keep me under control:
History prof Dr. Marmorstein is coordinating this spring’s Noon Forum Sessions on the Northern State University campus. Most Wednesdays this semester, Dr. Marmorstein will bring interesting people to the Beulah Williams Library Rotunda.
Launching the Spring 2016 series are Marmorstein’s fellow NSU prof Dr. Ken Blanchard and me. Blanchard and I have crossed swords as South Dakota political bloggers and as online Right/Left columnists for South Dakota Magazine. We’ll meet Wednesday at noon to discuss how our blogs and other online interactions may promote useful public discourse and how we citizens are to make sense of all the competing information our nonstop, multi-tentacled media present to us. We probably won’t arm-wrestle, but we’ll definitely take questions!
So come to the NSU Library Rotunda Wednesday, February 3, at noon here in Aberdeen, and help Dr. Blanchard and Me make intelligent conversation about media and democracy!
I wish I lived in Aberdeen so I could attend! Have a great time, Cory!
