Former Bachmann Aide Robocalls for Prayers for Petition Perjuring Bosworth

Her out-state money stream has gone dry, but former fake Senate candidate and alleged petition perjurer Annette Bosworth continues to rely on out-state opportunists for smoke and mirrors. The latest “Annette’s a great gal” nonsense comes from Peter Waldron, who is voicing robocalls urging people to pray for the campaign scammer as she faces trial for perjuring herself on her nominating petitions during the 2014 primary campaign. Waldron is pretending to be based in Sioux Falls (at the same address as Bosworth’s former graffiti studio/campaign HQ on Minnesota Avenue), but his real whereabouts (like the veracity of many of the claims he makes on his résumé) are anyone’s guess.

Waldron worked for the Michele Bachmann for President campaign before turning on her and filing complaints with the Federal Election Commission about improprieties in Bachmann’s campaign finances. Read a little more, Pete, and you may do the same for Bosworth.

Nancy Watkins from Florida was treasurer for Bachmann’s abortive 2012 campaign. Watkins is also Bosworth’s treasurer. Perhaps Watkins gave Bosworth Waldron’s number.

Or maybe Waldron came to Bosworth on the recommendation of Lee Stranahan, her latecomer hanger-on who smelled blood and money in South Dakota’s waters. Waldron erroneously cites Stranahan has a reliable source on his own website, and he has risen to Stranahan’s defense in the Dakota War College comment section. before he goes any further down that track, Waldron might want to review what he says on his “Beliefs For Which There Is NO Compromise” webpage about pornography—”I believe that pornography is a major threat to marriage stability, to family life, a child’s development and to individual mental health”—then reassess Stranahan’s mental health and social fitness.

Another of Waldron’s beliefs may give us pause about his own moral compass:

I believe that race, gender, and sexuality are sacred because it was the Awesome Almighty God who chose one’s identity. Bible-based (one man, one woman) marriages  and families – the cornerstone of a successful civilization – stabilize and secure our nation today, tomorrow, and in the future [Peter Waldron, “Beliefs For Which There Is NO Compromise,” personal website, downloaded 2015.04.29].

I understand we can find plenty of disagreement on gender and sexuality—such is the faux-family-values conservatism Bosworth feigned to dupe vulnerable retirees with dog-whistle slogans. But race is sacred? Just what is that line supposed to mean? Is Waldron really suggesting that a successful civilization must have racial classifications and restrictions?

We can question the return on investment to be had making robocalls in an attempt to influence a South Dakota perjury trial. We should definitely question the reliability of anyone who would throw in with Annette Bosworth and her circus of self-promotion and exploitation.

p.s.: One accurate statement from the robocall: Peter Waldron says of the Bosworth legal defense effort, “We need a miracle.” True: the facts and law show quite simply and clearly that Bosworth swore a false oath on her nominating petitions and thus is guilty of perjury.

Did the robo calls also go out to Hughes County numbers? If so there may be an issue with attempting to tamper with the jury pool.

  2. Very good question, Nick. Hughes County readers, any strange calls during the last 24 hours? Keep your ears open and your Record buttons ready!

  3. Tony Mangan at KCCR reports the calls went out “across South Dakota” but doesn’t say if anyone in Hughes County has reported receiving a call.

But hang on, Nick: SDCL 22-12A-12 makes it a Class 6 felony to attempt “to influence a juror, or any person summoned or drawn as a juror….” Does that statute apply before a person is drawn or summoned as a juror?

The jury pool may have already been selected. For county petit jury duty prior to the start of each quarter the clerk of courts sends out letters informing you that you have jury duty for the quarter. I assume the jury pool for April, May and June has already been notified that they are on jury duty and might be called for service anytime during that period. The actual jury for any trial is selected from the pool for the quarter.

How often do you see some crazy followers and the defendant do everything they can to get the “book thrown at her”?

I was pissed when I got home last night and checked my messages. Got the robocall asking me to pray for her. Good Lord, they really dialed the wrong #!

Ah! The republican gift that keeps on giving.

Did Bosworth only ask for prayers or did she put the touch on for money?

Just prayers, Mr. C. I was waiting for the money pitch and it never came. She really is insaner than most, Ms. Lynn. Unless this is part of a really big mass conspiracy to gum up Mr. Jackley’s run for Governor. I wouldn’t put it past that pretty young doctor; she has an impressive brain to match her beauty it is just insaner than most.

  10. I missed that, Larry! Who’s their news person?
