It’s bad enough that Trump is whacking South Dakota’s livestock producers with another anti-American, crony-coddling plan to dump foreign beef into the U.S. Democratic candidate for U.S. House Nikki Gronli says Trump is doubling his farm-whammy by slapping tariffs on Canada again:
South Dakota’s number one trading partner is Canada. Canada is the state’s top international buyer and supplier, driven by geographic proximity, shared agricultural markets, and cross-border manufacturing supply chains.
50% tariffs mean additional costs and a tougher business climate for small businesses, manufacturers, farmers and ranchers. The hits keep coming and this administration does not care. Gronli’s opponent in the general election, Attorney General Marty Jackley, likes posting pictures of himself with farm folks, but I can’t find any sign that he’s made a peep this week about Trump’s disastrous ag-trade policies.
Yet some SD congressmen campaigned on getting Trump’s endorsement. Why would you want that????????
