Manhart’s Missouri Pal Wants to Require Male Voters to Watch Manly Movies First

Pat Powers has rumored that election-law-violator and liar Logan Manhart may go to work for fellow election-denier Monae Johnson in the Secretary of State’s office. If true, what could Manhart’s presence in the state election office mean for voter registration in South Dakota?

Manhart keeps company with one Victor Nieves, a young Web-noisemaker from Missouri. Manhart says he and Nieves are creating something called “Generation Frontline” to address the clear lesson they draw from the midterm elections that the Republican Party has lost Generation Z. Nieves’s prescription for winning back young voters is to ban porn and make men watch old movies before voting:

Hmm… civic education through two Mel Gibson movies that falsify history and a classic but fictional account of a big-city boxer that marginalizes women?

I can’t wait for Manhart to come to committee to testify for legislation from our new Secretary of State Johnson: “Members of the committee, our office proposes all men must attend state-sponsored screenings of these three great American movies before we add their names to the voter rolls. Women may qualify to vote by coming to these screenings on official dates with men.”

Related Risk to Rational Security: Manhart’s godheads Trump and Noem say Tiktok is a threat to national security. But Manhart remains ebulliently active on Tiktok, giving up all of his wise words and personal details to the Red Chinese.

i think the tweeter you poke fun of here deserves being a laughing stock for his nonsense opinions… but that link about rocky marginalizing women has got to be some of the worst writing i’ve read in a while haha the jist is “adrian is quiet and poor so rocky marginalizes women” haha dumb… the whole point of the movie is that rocky is dumb and poor and quiet, but does that marginalize men? no. they are characters in a story. they are not representatives of their gender. that whole article is full of “problemitized” crap. i hate that crap.

I thought the young Adrian woman sort of bolstered Mr. Rocky out of his shell and instilled confidence in him. And in the latter episodes did not she become his business manager and was all suave and in charge? Mr. H was probably too young back when those movies came out to take an official date to the theatre. Do you know who marginalizes women? The Tulsa King, that’s who.

Trump hates tiktok because it was a means for Americans to jilt him and laugh at him. Trump’s butt is still bloody from the hurt he endured when he was to throw a huge rally at a Tulsa arena with sold-out tickets. That is because Americans learned a little trick from rapper 50 Cent, who bought every single concert ticket of his rival, Ja Rule. He didn’t do this as a super fan. He spent the bread on tickets for the pure satisfaction and taunts and laughs at Ja’s expense when Ja Rule showed up for a sold-out performance, with not one soul in the stands; complete silence, except for the mocking laughs from 50.

Fast-forward to tiktok. The social media platform enabled young American tricksters to collabo their own mockery event to cause trump’s epic butt-hurt. They bought their tickets and shared on tiktok how excited they were to not attend the trump rally on that night. People were getting dolled up to celebrate not going to the Tulsa trump circle jerk. I applaud their snafu. The look on his face when he realized he got played must be a million dollar image that will never see the light of day. Imagine how funny his indignation must have been.

The Florida Fondler was too embarrassed and butthurt to admit the tiktok generation punked him, so right away trump announced tiktok’s ban in the US. He even was hell-bent on receiving a finder’s fee from the government for finding it’s replacement. The entertainment value of having a slap-stick presidency is priceless( not counting the ya’know, actual cost of just everything we hold dear).

Slo-mo to Noem’s over-sized face filling every maga screen in support of her clam-grabbing yam fake president, disguised as a firm leader protecting her flock. She gets assist strokes for soothing trump’s hurt feelers, and she gets to harm the number one source of income for our state’s soybean farmers. She is perty slick.

    Slick, like a varnished eel*

  5. If we’re going to watch movies to instill a sense of civic duty, why not require registering voters to watch some movies that deal with American government? Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Dave, The American President, All the President’s Men…. Or how about having voters watch The West Wing? Other suggestions, readers?

  6. If Adrian was so important to the story, why did Stallone kill her off?

Adrian is not a role model. She’s a prop, only there to support the main theme of men beating each other up. That’s exactly how Nieves and Manhart want their women—subordinate—and that’s a big part of why their effort to win back Gen Z to their radical right-wing cause will fail.

  7. I still think Rocky is a good movie. I enjoy watching it. But it has nothing useful to say to voters about their civic duty and almost nothing positive to say about women’s self-actualization.

The once a decade Sight & Sound poll just voted this 1975 film as best of all time.
    – The first winner was Bicycle Thieves in 1952. For the next several decades, Orson Welles’ masterpiece Citizen Kane reigned as the undisputed top pick, only to be finally surpassed by Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo in 2012. Those two films are still among the top three finishers on the 2022 list.
    – I watched “Jeanne Dielman” for the first time, last week and I can confidently say it doesn’t objectify women.
    – It was created by a woman (Chantal Akerman) and stars a woman.

I’ve never seen 1. and 2. Not a Mel Gibson fan. Not a TikTok fan, either. Not Gen Z, either, but I assume they are “reachable,” whatever that means. You might not want to click on those links to “GenerationFrontline.” I got a notice that it was trying to steal my information. I backed out immediately. Maybe these folks should be forthright and honest, not try to steal my personal information like some ChiCom apparatchiks. have some policies that make sense for Gen Zs, and stop jacking off to movies with hunky male leads.

John- the upcoming documentary, The Descendant, looks very good. In fact, while filming descendants of last slave ship, the Clotilda was finally discovered in Alabama. I hope to get your analysis after it premieres.

What? Rocky kills Adrian?!? Not in the version I watched.

You want good movies, you watch anything with Gregory Peck in it, or Heartbreak Ridge.

I remember when the entertainment industry goal was to create an entertaining experience based on the audience they were trying to reach. You went to a movie, watched tv, attended a play to enjoy yourself and to have a good time. Many times the story line made a point or brought attention to an issue.
But nowadays when bloggers and “internet experts” get paid by the number of views they have our society spends far too much time over annalysing every little detail that we find controversial or that doesn’t conform to our own personal beliefs.
I’m hoping I’m not the only one wishing to just be entertained again. Have we forgotten how to just have fun? Does everything in this world have to create a battle?

    P. Aitch- lemme know what you think of the Obamas’ the Descendant. The history of the Clotilda could be read by Ben Stein and still be riveting, let alone seen produced and directed by a brilliant team.

  17. Nancy Ogle

Never heard of Festivus before. Looked through the festivities and was doing good til I got to the Feats of Strength and wrestling matches beneath a Festivus pole. Meatloaf on a bed of lettuce for dinner.
Somehow I missed that Seinfeld episode. May have to track it down
Thanks for the info. Got many a chuckle out of this. Bet the show was a sidesplitter
