AP: Ballot Drop Boxes Secure; No Evidence Supports Trumpist Hysteria

As we’ve come to expect, all those Trumpists complaining about “illegal, unconstitutional” ballot drop boxes a freaking out over nothing. The Associated Press looked all over the country for signs of trouble caused by ballot drop boxes, but election officials of all stripes said, nope, the drop boxes work fine:

In response to the legislation and conspiracy theories surrounding drop boxes, the AP sent a survey in May to the top elections office in each state seeking information about whether the boxes were tied to fraudulent votes or stolen ballots, or whether the boxes and the ballots they contained were damaged.

All but five states responded to the questions.

None of the election offices in states that allowed the use of drop boxes in 2020 reported any instances in which the boxes were connected to voter fraud or stolen ballots. Likewise, none reported incidents in which the boxes or ballots were damaged to the extent that election results would have been affected.

…Arizona Assistant Secretary of State Allie Bones said drop boxes are “safe and secure” and might even be considered more secure than Postal Service mailboxes. She said bipartisan teams in the state collect ballots from the drop boxes and take them directly to secure election facilities, following so-called chain-of-custody protocols.

“Not to say that there’s anything wrong with USPS, and I think they do a great job as well, but the hysteria around ballot drop boxes I think is just a made-up thing to create doubt and fear,” Bones said [Anthony Izaguirre and Christina A. Cassidy, “No Major Problems with Ballot Drop Boxes in 2020, AP Finds,” AP, 2022.07.17].

Trumpists and the Republican Party they’ve taken over will keep hollering about bogeymen; if you want leaders to work on real problems instead of trying to make it harder for you to vote, you’ll have to vote for Democrats.

Yup..its all nonsense promoted by idiots like the Pillow Guy and the Overstock founder who dated Martina, the Russian agent paramour of the old Dusty. It can’t get much crazier and our Republicans are mixed up with the nuts, tooth and jaw.

Don’t ever forget it was drumpf hizoenself that wanted the USPS to slow down ballot deliverys and cause general mayhem with the mail. He even appointed his own unqualified postmaster.

No, zero, nada problems with drop boxes in Wisconsin. No lost ballots and no fraud cases have been associated with drop boxes in any election anywhere in the state. That can’t be said for polling places. Still a recent ruling by the Wisconsin Supreme Court has said drop boxes are illegal here because they aren’t specifically authorized by state law. Drop boxes are more secure than the US Mail, which still is available in state law. That doesn’t mean that the elections in which drop boxes were used in Wisconsin are illegitimate, as Donald Trump says. It means that going forward, until laws change, which is unlikely with our Republican Legislature, the mail and the polling stations are the only options.

Well the trumpist cult will follow whatever the Manhattan rich boy says. Yes, they really are stupid. What else is there to say?

We need good liberal patriots to volunteer en masse to help their county the 2022 and 2024 elections honest and to shut down any nonsense from these Pillow Guy shouters and Russian infiltrators.

I saw “2000 MULES”. Inconclusive and unsubstantiated assertions involving drop boxes and vague data from anonymous cell phone tracking.

But P. Aitch it should be retitled two million Mules. The lying losers need support their delusional.

mike from iowa is correct. Louis DeJoy became the Postmaster General in June of 2020, just in time for the election, and continues to be the PG to this day. I get it it fun to trash the MAGAts, I love to do it too. But if he is incompetent why does he still have the position?

The absolute nature of your assertion chips away credibility.

I now there was widespread and massive fraud.

So I’m confused and rather shocked by your statement.

    But don’t worry.

I’m just a nobody who likes to get vitamin D from the Sun in my back yard.

    :D

The deep state is prosecuting a war.

Thanks to Trump, we know about it and we’re prosecuting our own peaceful and legal action.

After they removed Hillary Clinton before the 2018 midterms there is no way in Hell the GOP would have given a President Tim Kaine the time to choose a Veep so here’s a nightmare scenario for those who slept through civics. The Speaker of the House doesn’t need to be an incumbent member of Congress so if the Republicans regain the House of Representatives they could elect Trump as Speaker then assassinate POTUS Biden and VPOTUS Harris and Trump would become Chief Executive.

Jeepers John Dale, you are confused. I’m praying for you.

I am seriously asking John if he is bi-polar. Look at his pattern of posting. First, he goes wild posting claims here and the DWC. Then, he will vanish again for a bit, concoct a few more bizarre claims when he is gone, and come back when he is manic again. Let us know if I am wrong, John, but more and more I think you need to see a psychiatrist. This is not an insult. You are not well, John.

What Mr. Dale and louts like little PP do is agitprop — performance art that rouses rabble to make money and nothing more. It’s difficult to imagine any Republican believes the lord they spew.
