CGL Beat Four Other Bidders; Prison Review Will Be Made Mostly Public

On Monday, I noticed that the slides the Department of Corrections had submitted to the Joint Appropriations Committee for its Wednesday briefing mentioned that the $166,410 contract the state gave CGL Companies of California to review our prison system was for “emergency services” exempt from our open competitive bidding process. Maybe the bidding process wasn’t open, but state human resources boss Darin Seeley told Joint Appropriations yesterday that the state chose CGL’s bid from among five proposals.

At least we know there was some competition for this bid. (And still, the best bidder comes from that communist state that Kristi Noem hates so much….)

According to Bob Mercer’s report, Seeley told our appropriators that “much” of CGL’s review of our prisons, due in December, will be made public.

Well..when was the “request for proposal” published??? Where was it published???Was this a transparent public process or an inside deal??? Who did the selecting of a contractor and what were the criteria for selection?? If it was not an open process how did 5 contractors know the application process?? Is a “kick=back” agreement in place???

Hear hear, Mr. Blundt. This Mr. Seeley fellow is not running a transparent public process, it would appear.

Grudz-I have to agree with you 100% on that comment. The whole Noem cabal are as transparent as frosted glass.
