New Year’s Cleaning: Blog Maintenance!

Fear not! Dakota Free Press looks totally different because I’m updating WordPress!

I’ll spare you the technical details—in short, the previous code was throwing some weird errors, and I wanted to update and clean the blog to work better with smaller mobile devices.

Sorry, Republicans, I’m only cleaning up code, not scrubbing Dakota Free Press of all that darned socialism. :-)

If you notice any functional errors (like comments not showing up!), let me know what problems you are seeing. Stay tuned!

I like this set up best of all, I think.

  3. Mr. H, you need a board of bloggers who could ratify and approve your blogging changes and destruction of historic records. This board would be able to say NAY to your destruction of important bloggings like when Mr. Howie denied he owed grudznick money. It would be more happy and translucent like what Mr. Biden wants. The translucency would improve the credibility, and the improved credibility of the bloggings would make them more influential. And being more influential, you could manipulate the legislatures, the way lobbists do.

I do like the new site layout as it looks more cleaner and modern than the previous setup.

Try to see if you can get your site moved to the more secure HTTPS standard. For about a year or so now, most web browsers now label standard http:// sites as “Not secure”, and more and more websites are now using https:// instead, for added security. This will ensure that email messages sent through the site’s contact form along with any newsletter sign ups will stay secure when they are on their way to your inbox.

I’m not sure what hosting provider you use for DFP, but it’s best to contact them to see about moving your web address to HTTPS since it is a process that can take some time.

  5. Grudz, all of my blog posts remain publicly available. When have i destroyed public historical records?

  6. Wade, good suggestion! I’ll keep that HTTPS issue on my desktop for the next long weekend I get for blog tinkering!

Placing advertisements inline with articles, and immediately after the first article, is obnoxious and I don’t like it.
