Next Missing Persons Monday: Where Is Jason Ravnsborg?

Jason Ravnsborg appears to have disappeared from social media after killing Joe Boever on September 12. His personal Twitter account, @jasonravnsborg, has shown as suspended since his fatal crash on Highway 14 just west of Highmore. His last post to his @SDAttorneyGen account was on September 7. Ravnsborg hasn’t plastered his face on his Attorney General Facebook page since the State Fair. He was regularly posting coronavirus numbers and notes on missing persons to his personal Facebook page pre-manslaughter, but he’s been silent there since September 11.

Chief of staff Tim Bormann has done all of the AG’s “Missing Person Monday” videos since Ravnsborg killed Boever. And while we can usually count on the AG’s office for three or four press releases a month as a sign of life, the last piece from that propaganda mill was one blurb a month ago about South Dakota’s 1% share of a 48-state-plus-DC settlement with C.R. Bard, Inc. over deceptive marketing of transvaginal surgical mesh devices.

Jason Ravnsborg’s retreat from the public eye may actually serve the public well by keeping him off the roads and out of the courtroom, where he’s not much good to anyone. But if he’s going to go missing, we’d appreciate it if he’d do the right thing and on full unpaid leave until the remarkably long investigation of his killing of Joe Boever is finished.

It’s possible he became too much of a drag on Noem Nothing’s coattails and was summarily vanished, never to darken her barn doorsteps again.

Was Ravnsborg ever known to hunt phezgunts in or near shelterbelts on relative’s property?

Inquiring iowan would like to know.

Fish guts aren’t the only thing that stinks in Pierre.

EB-5, Gear Up, dead people, 10s of millions missing, cover ups and more Billions in Federal gifts to South Dakota this year!

When will we ever have Legislative oversight in South Dakota?

Till the sheep in the valley come home my way
Till the stars fall around me and find me alone
When the sun comes a-singin’ I’ll still be waitin

For gubmint oversight in Northern Mississippi.

My humblest apologies to Oliver for stealing lyrics.

  4. Asking “where has he gone?” assumes we knew where he was to start with.

I found Jerry Jeff Walker. He left the building at 78. Mr Bojangles told me so.

it takes a SD style “thorough investigation” to make sure Ravnsborg will get nothing.

It is also shameful that we haven’t heard much from our missing in action Governor! It is hard to believe the “common sense” people in South Dakota continue to let the majority party sweep these things under the rug! Just remember all the unanswered questions regarding EB-5, GEAR UP and now the A.G’s accident! We South Dakotans deserve better than this!

    MFI,
    I prefer Loudon Wainwright III….

Take a whiff on me that ain’t no rose.
Roll up your window and hold your nose.

    Boy, this stinks so bad……

  9. Darrell, you know she’s too busy talking to the millions of voters who don’t live in South Dakota and aren’t subject to the harms of an Attorney General who’s as bad a lawyer as he is a driver.

“You deserve who you elect”—will rogers, perhaps

  11. Jenny, I’m still not sure which way the political call will break. Noem has a great opportunity here to remove a liability from office. Ravnsborg adds no value to her regime or her 2024 bid. He has no campaign power left for 2022. He can’t even beat me in court. She could direct him to resign, appoint Sara Frankenstein in his place, get more effective lawyering for the state, win more women’s equality props (or at least the visuals on which the Fox-GOP thrives), and have a dynamic, crowd-pleasing, Google-juicing presence on the statewide campaign trail in 2022 helping make the GOP look good.

Jason is hanging on by a thread. That’s why he’s remaining absolutely silent.

Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road. Have not heard that in decades, but I certainly remembered the lyrics., Nix. Thanks for the memories. :)

    From Quotable Quotes, leslie.

Mike, I’m trying to remember without looking it up. Is it “Jean”?

I’ve already said every disparaging thing I can about the SDGOP. Since they have no conscience they can’t be shamed. Anything I might add would get me banned from DFP for life.

  15. mike from iowa

Right you are, Debbo. Jean it is.

  16. Notinks

You know Sara Frankenstein was a beauty queen too.

  17. I do, Notinks, I do. Frankenstein is thus much more camera-ready than Ravnsborg. Frankenstein has never killed anybody, as far as we know. As a political bonus, appointing Frankenstein would help paper over Noem’s rift with the Jackley wing of her party, since Frankenstein worked with Jackley and endorsed him in the 2018 primary. Instead of having to put up with Ravnsborg, a pathetic Lederman patsy who had to beg for four years to be allowed into the club despite his glaring deficiencies, the party can upgrade to an Attorney General who can command a room (courtroom, campaign office, fundraising dining hall) just by walking in and announcing herself.

And remember: Sara walked into a beauty pageant with the name Frankenstein and won. That’s like a guy with a name that rhymed with the deadliest Muslim terrorist in the world winning the Presidency. She’s got something going on… and I suspect it’s more than what either Ravnsborg or Noem have going on.
