Trump DHS Says White Supremacists Are Biggest Domestic Security Threat

Watch out for Whitey, says the Trump Administration:

Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said Wednesday during his confirmation hearing that white supremacists have become the “most persistent and lethal” internal “threat” to the U.S.

“White supremacist extremists, from a lethality standpoint over the last two years, particularly when you look at 2018 and 2019, are certainly the most persistent and lethal threat when we talk about domestic violent extremists,” said Wolf, who has been heading the DHS in an acting capacity since November [Savannah Behrmann, “Acting DHS Secretary: White Supremacy Is ‘Most Persistent and Lethal Threat’ Internally to US,” USA Today, 2020.09.23].

Not Muslim Americans. Not Black Lives Matter. Not “antifa“. The biggest threat to domestic security is white racists.

Joe Biden is telling us that “we’re not safe in Donald Trump’s America.” It appears Trump’s DHS agrees. And the racism that Donald Trump stokes is one of the biggest reasons we are not safe in our own country.

As a Jewish American I can attest to this. 3 years running the threats against us, the attacks on our elderly Jews especially in New York City, the destruction of property, the burning of our Synagogues and so on. But this isn’t just an issue for us Jews, it’s a problem for all Americans because this mentality leads to attacks on anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their worldview and their religious views.

Spot on comment on DHS testimony which is in stark contrast with not only the President, but his AG Barr as well.

D’oh. But I wonder how long until Trump fires him.

39% of Americans say Ethics-Free Fraudster should nominate the Notorious RBG’s replacement. 52% say he should not.

538 average of a whole bunch of polls by everyone.

Debbo, when I see those polls, I always wonder if the 52% who say President Trump (or the Senate) should wait are also willing to cast a vote against him (them) if he (they) does not. That is what continues to vex me about politics: our elected leaders do things the voters say they do not approve of, then those same voters cast their votes to re-elect those same leaders. Voting has become disconnected from candidates’/politicians’ actions.

O, the 538 writer said the numbers correlate closely to voter numbers. She said the 52% are likely to be the voters who are Biden/Harris voters.

My recent understanding of the DHS is that it has become an extremely politicized pro-Trump/right branch, so this news surprises me and has me feeling tentatively (yet skeptically) hopeful. For some of us, the reality behind Wolf’s statement has been obvious since before Trump’s presidency.

Caleb, for some of us, this has been obvious since the 1950’s.

“this mentality leads to attacks on anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their worldview and their religious views.”

Ms. Miller is right about this. During the civil rights efforts of the 1950s-60s white scumacysts attacked not only POC, but anyone who was sympathetic or helped them, regardless of skin color. That racist sentiment hasn’t changed.
