In more self-contradiction, after dropping her daughter off at grad school in Tennessee, Governor Kristi Noem proceeded to render her youngest child ineligible for political office in South Dakota by taking him to an out-of-state college in Missouri. According to the Governor’s Twitter, the Snow Queen dropped young Booker off for his freshman year at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, yesterday.
None of the Governor’s social media pix show any member of her family wearing a mask, but contrary to Booker’s mom’s discouragement of public health precautions, Evangel is requiring everyone in public spaces on campus to wear face coverings.
Evangel is aligning with city policy in Springfield, Missouri, where everyone in city limits must wear face coverings in public spaces. SO let’s hope Mom left her son an extra case of masks. Evangel is prohibiting pre-game tailgate parties and closing games to fans until at least October 1.
Evangel also asked that incoming students self-isolate for two weeks prior to the start of school to avoid bringing coronavirus to campus. According to the Governor, her son was out vacationing in the Black Hills last week.
Joe pointed out that the tuition cost of Belcrap is like $60,000.00 and that, coincidentally is what South Dakota taxpayers were paying her to put makeup on her mom’s mug for Fox and Friends.
So, how much are South Dakota taxpayers being soaked for young Booker to be canonized? The one thing these GNOem children are learning very well is how to grift. For those who don’t know the work grift it means to swindle, or cheat.
Everyone knows that for republicans rules are optinal.
I guess krist’s choices show her confidence in SD education …….or maybe she found places that would accept her spawn.
By far the most stupid story you’ve posted yet.
No, the story is true, the tuition is over $60,000.00 a year for the former state employee and grifter. Young Booker’s tuition, board and room along with incidentals, will be about the same. When you can grift from South Dakota taxpayers that are gullible, what can you expect. The story is not stupid…by far…
They wanted to go to trump university, but there was something about fraud.
Religious, private Uni with emphasis on brainwashing and then academics. 56% graduation rate after 6 years and 56% after 8 years? Cost around 38k and only 20 something with aid figured in.
The irredeemably stupid makes judgements on what is stupid. Matter of qualification there.
The matter of mask wearing came up with a surgeon this morning. He said he would not deny a person’s right to kill himself, but would absolutely deny the right to kill others or expose others to the hazard of death.
And of course one of Camo Barbie’s pics has her in camo pants with hubby and son (and their deformed knees?) and another pic with her idiot son and his Hitler youth buddies pointing to their poster of “Supertrump.” If nothing else, let’s vote the embarrassment of these Repubs out of office ASAP.
It’s $38,000 a year to go to Evangel university so $152000 to get a bachelors degree there. The Queen is such a hypocrite when she made it into something horrible that Matt Varilek when to college out of state.
What’s want wrong with Augustana? Aren’t there any other private Christian universities in South Dakota?
I don’t care where they go it’s just the hypocrisy of it all.
Noem’s son should go to the college he wants, just as Varelik did. Is there hypocrisy involved? Not on the son’s part, but the mother, if she had any morality, would publicly apologize.
To mask or not to mask is not an individual’s decision when they can make many others sick by not following the guidelines. Dr newquist and his surgeon have it right.
Scofflaws should be scoffed to the fullest extent of the law.
Leave the daughter alone – It is her business what she does with her life.
Her mother is the political figure not her daughter or family. They are off limits
They’re not off limits when their on the state teat for doing a nothing job. You know as well as I that the girl was about as qualified to do that job as you are, and you do know you’re not qualified, no?
I wonder if grudznick would be qualified, if I wanted to go back to working for somebody besides myself. That doesn’t matter, since I’d no doubt be discriminated against for age and ugliness and not even get an interview. So let’s get back to bashing people’s families and their kids’ choice of schools, and pants style, and the look of some knees, and by golly when are you fellows going to get around to criticizing haricuts? grudznick does like to critique hair cuts.
A meaningful blogging indeed, this is.
KJ, I couldn’t bring myself to post that trashy poster of a buff Trump in tights.
Grudz, the relevant point here is that an elected official is using her anti-mask position to raise money from political donors, yet she is sending her children to colleges that require masks. The elected official should account for this contradiction publicly. Is her anti-mask rhetoric just a political ploy that doesn’t translate into the health practices she wants her kids to take? Is she unable to convince her own offspring that she’s right and scientists and their universities are wrong about masks? Or will the Governor’s kids be breaking their schools’ mask rules?
And Grudz, work on your reading comprehension. I did not “bash” any family or any choice of schools in this post. I did not evaluate the merits of Evangel University; I only pointed out that they are implementing their home city’s mask ban.
But if you have a moment to break away from your meaningful mission of getting goats, point to the exact words I use that support your disdainful mischaracterization of this post.
Mr. H, that doesn’t seem to be what your minions are focusing on, but you, sir, seem to be mature enough to realize that Ms. Noem’s son and daughter are separate people who can make choices of their own and should be judged on whether they wear a mask at their school or not, not how much the tuition is or what the mascot is or what style of pants their mommy wore in a picture or how ugly daddy’s knees are. As our good, common, raging liberal, government-teat-sucking friend Mr. Fleming would say…just sayin…
The students of UNC at Chappell Hill, NC, sound off of that schools, er foolish mistake trying to hold classes.

Why all the self-denial? Why all the ‘it can’t happen here’? Why does everyone think they have to get pregnant first to ‘discover’ how it happens?

Commentary on NOem’s kids: they are not kids. They are adults. They are every bit as public as they impress themselves to be — and in that standing are subject to the same adult scrutiny as were the adult children of raygun, cheney, ford, janklow, Biden, etc.
I have no minions. Your obsession with talking about commenters instead of the subject of the main post does not interest me.
The Noems are making a public statement (and Kristi makes it public by tweeting about it on her official social media channels) that they say one thing but do another.
Noem’s public statements, fundraising, and manipulation of the state DOH’s public health messages, not to mention her advocacy of South Dakota as a land of opportunity, stand in stark contrast to where her family chooses to spend money on higher education.
It’s just like how Noem uses anti-government rhetoric to burnish her national reputation and win votes while her family pays its way for over two decades on more than $3M in big government farm subsidies.
Kristi Noem is a self-serving hypocrite. She’s the perfect running mate for Donald Trump.
Perfect running mate for drumpf? Only if they are being run out of Dodge on a rail. If you say bad things about her, she and Grudzilla will cloud up and rain all over in a fit of victimhood.
Tonight’s goat, gotten for you by the life choices of the offspring of a woman voted in as Governor.
Grudz, it makes no sense to say that somehow being a hypocrite is a victory for Noem because her hypocrisy annoys us. The moral response here is to mock the hypocrite, not mock those who point out the hypocrisy.
Sam, the Noems are now all adults… and Noem uses those adults as props in her public statements all the time. We are well within our bounds discuss the props Noem uses in her political statements and the failure of those props to live up to the other rhetoric she uses to promote her political stock.
Odd that Ms Noem would send Booker to a school that doesn’t love freedom….
Jenny – Augie is a wonderful school speaking as an alum… but heaven forbid she send him to a great liberal arts school with a wonderful leader that is (former opponent) President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. (I so wish she was president when I was there!)
Perhaps those adults make decisions of their own that contradict mommy, as is their adult right, and perhaps Booker is still being punished for not taking out the trash and needs to lose a little freedom as punishment. He did seem to be a naughty little boy.
I look forward to hearing Kristi Noem say about her out-of-state children the same things she said about their fellow well-traveled scholar Matt Varilek.
One of the many embarrassments the GOP has learned to excel at is hypocrisy. Kruel Kristi and kids are a case in point.
Evangel seems to be tracking covid cases:
https://www.evangel.edu/covid-19-dashboard/
http://www.belmont.edu/university-ministries/covid-19-UM.html
Belmont hasn’t got much going for health stats, but they do have a mandatory mask policy, violators might get suspended:

I’m your minion. Just sayin’.
Don’t all of you look like a bunch of feckless idiots now, one wonders how many of you actually live in SD and how many of those can actually show your faces in public without feeling the shame of the ignorant. There is no limit to the lengths you will go to ensure that your ignorance is exposed for all to see.
It appears Noem’s youngest child allegedly didn’t return to college after his freshman year.
