Tres Palabras: Joe Biden—Presidente

Donald Trump no cree estes ideales.

That’s what I get for trying to use my minimal Español without going through Translate. Here it is corrected:

    Estoy agradecido por mi traducción!

I think I’ll stick to English and reiterate, Joe is too old! No more Boomers! It’s time for the millennials and XYZs and so forth. It’s not that we Boomers don’t have something to add. We do, but our time in the Oval is past and we’re not the ones with decades left on this planet.

Let youthful energy, zeal and uncalloused spirits lead the way.

Anita Hill is not impressed with Biden.

“Anita Hill says a conversation she had with former Vice President Joe Biden this month left her feeling “deeply unsatisfied.” She says she’s unconvinced that he accepts the harm he caused her when he presided over a congressional hearing during Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court confirmation process.

“In an interview with The New York Times published Thursday, Hill said: ‘I cannot be satisfied by simply saying I’m sorry for what happened to you. I will be satisfied when I know there is real change and real accountability and real purpose.’

“Hill says she cannot support Biden until he takes responsibility for his actions. She also said she is “troubled” by allegations that he touched women in overaffectionate ways that made them uncomfortable.

“Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee during Hill’s 1991 hearing, where she testified Thomas had sexually harassed her. Biden has said he wishes he could have avoided questioning by some male lawmakers that he called ‘hostile and insulting.’ ”
(That’s the entire piece in PBS.org)

I’m personally deeply troubled every time I hear him say he wishes he could have done more. He was the chair of the freaking committee!

I don’t feel like he takes full responsibility for the attacks on Prof Hill in that hearing or for the unwanted touching he’s done. It sounds like he makes excuses for himself.

I agree w debbo re boomers (this should eliminate bernie too), and joe is a gaff king. Our next president needs to be supremely gifted in intellect training skills and honesty. Not only will we need to sail clear of the rocks, but make extraordinary progress in the next terms.

  7. Right on the money—is that how our Spanish friends translate that phrase, Bear?

Debbo, you are correct that Uncle Joe brings baggage. I endorse no candidate yet, as I wait to see how they will all sort themselves and answer for their records in the primary. I have 13.5 months before I have to choose… by which time Democrats in all of the earlier primary and caucus states may have chosen for me.

But I will say here what I’ve said on Twitter: Joe Biden has done a lot of good for this country, far more than the current occupant of the White House. Joe Biden would serve this country well again if elected.

  8. Nonetheless, the jovenes can make a strong argument that it’s their time. I look forward to the jovenes showing up at the polls to prove their point.

USA’s Presidente loves to insult people. It’s not a New York thing. People I know from NYC aren’t like that at all. His new insult to Vice President Biden is “Sleepy Joe”.
For me, our half-honestly elected leader is known as “Dirty Donald”.
~ Hey, America. Drop Dirty Donald! ~

Joe Biden has been wrong over and over again:
Opposed busing to integrate public schools
    Opposed Anita Hill
    Favored Clinton’s Crime Bill
    Favored Mass Incarceration
    Favored Iraq War
    Favored Credit Card Firms
    Favored Bank Bailout
Favored by Comcast and Blue Cross Blue Shield

Joe Biden is a tool for the corporatocracy.

  14. Roger Cornelius

I’ll take all of Biden’s short comings compared to the filth of the Trump administration.

Jason, aren’t those wrong positions also your positions?
