Former Yankton mayor and now Democratic candidate for District 18 House Terry Crandall keeps racking up good marks on his résumé. Last night his colleagues on the Yankton school board elected him board president. Encouragingly, Crandall says he won’t let the gavel stifle his voice:
I can’t change who I am…. I’ve been expressing myself so far during our regular meetings, so I want to be true to my feelings and also the people whom I feel I’m serving [Terry Crandall, audio clip #2, “Yankton School Board Reorganizes; Elects Terry Crandall President,” WNAX, 2018.07.10].
Bonus points to a school board member who uses whom correctly. We need that kind of grammatical intelligence in the Legislature!
Crandall was guidance counselor and an English teacher before being elected to the school board.
English teachers of the world, unite!
Dyslexic of the world, untie!
Good one, Debbo. :0)
