Joint Appropriations Snudges Current-Year Revenues Up; Projects 3.47% More for FY2019

The top sheet is the new official guess of how much general fund revenue South Dakota will take in this fiscal year, approved by Joint Appropriations this morning. That $1.586 billion is sixth hundredths of a percent higher than what the Legislature projected last year.

The bottom sheet is our best guess for next fiscal year’s general fund revenue, also approved this a.m. $1.641 billion is 3.47% more than we budgeted for FY2018 and 1.61% ($26 million) more than Governor Daugaard recommended for FY2019, but just 0.049% ($800,000) more than requested by the various state agencies.
