When Marty Jackley wants to talk up his leadership skills, whom does he cite? Not the Republican spin blog…
Not to pick on Cory, but I think he posted one time… it’s fair, but I don’t know if it was a compliment, but… he compared me to some other candidates, and he made the comment… “Jackley is a leader; he doesn’t always lead in the right direction.” I’ve tried to be a leader for you, I’ve tried to fight for you. And when I say you, it’s Republicans and Democrats [Marty Jackley, comment at campaign event, Aberdeen, SD, 2018.01.04].
Tucked in Jackley’s campaign brief book may be this February 2017 Dakota Free Press post on his race against Kristi Noem:
But what about us non-Republicans? If the election were held today, with no Democrats announced and Mike Huether equivocating and yucky, should we pick a favorite between the two Republicans?
For the moment, I’d pick Jackley over Noem. Jackley has allowed corruption to run rampant in state government (he was there when the state was dealing with its first EB-5 lawsuit, before Benda and Bollen inked the crazy privatization deal), but he also has executive experience in the Capitol. Kristi Noem looks nice, but she doesn’t have to run anything as one meager voice among 435 in the U.S. House. I won’t like Jackley’s leadership, but at least he’d provide leadership [CA Heidelberger, “Dusty Says Kristi and Marty Both Give Great Speeches… But Who Can Run South Dakota?” Dakota Free Press, 2017.02.22].
A.G. Jackley may not have made my list of busy commenters in 2017, but at least we know he’s reading South Dakota’s smartest political commentary.
I’ll have much more video and commentary on Jackley’s morning campaign stop in Aberdeen later today.
If I was voting rpublican, I’d vote for Kristi …. I’d rather have stupid than evil.
We got both in the WH. Be careful what you wish for, Buckobear. If I could vote in South Dakota and there was no viable Dem, I’d write in her horse for Guv.
Jackley and/or Noem will be more of the same old same old you have had for like ever.
Not the same ‘ol same ol’. These are two unspeakably incompetent human beings, neither of whom has my best interests in mind.
What would Ms. Kaiser say about Mr. Jackley’s claims to the Aberdeen crowd?
I didn’t spot the Kaisers in the crowd. They both must have been working today.
It’s funny that “less terrible than Noem,” to Jackley, is taken as praise.
Indeed, Timoteo! It’s also funny that Jackley figures the positive impact of mentioning a local liberal blogger to his Aberdeen audience outweighs any potential negative impact of letting his Republican primary voters know that he pays that much attention to a liberal blog.
