Noem: Hate/Fearmongers Should Shut Up

Representative Kristi Noem finally spoke up on the Nazi violence in Charlottesville. She tells that Sioux Falls paper that she’s disappointed with “all involved” in the violent weekend gathering.

“All involved”—does that include the pastors who rallied in peaceful prayer and song in the face of machine-gun-toting Nazis? You’ve got to choose your words more carefully, Congresswoman Noem.

Congresswoman and gubernatorial candidate Noem says she supports Donald Trump, but her extended quote to the press seems to say the opposite:

Noem said she supports Trump following his clarified remarks. She said those looking to speak in hateful terms were better off keeping their comments to themselves.

“Anybody who’s using language to spread hate and fear today should be condemned. We have enough problems in this country with our economy, with our tax code, with our health care that we need everybody at the table,” she said. “If their language is not contributing to finding solutions, then it would be best if they remain silent” [Dana Ferguson, “Noem Criticizes ‘All Involved’ in Charlottesville Violence,” that Sioux Falls paper, 2017.08.14].

Fear and hate have been the hallmarks of Donald Trump’s political career from the start. His angry but ineffective language hasn’t contributed to a single concrete policy solution on the economy, health care, or tax reform this year.

You’re right, Representative Noem: it would be best if Donald Trump joined his angry but solutionless Nazi base in remaining silent.

she’s disappointed with “all involved” in the violent weekend gathering.

Shows exactly how much time she has spent thinking about her response.

Truth to tell is that if Noem doesn’t know who America’s enemies are she doesn’t deserve to be in office.
A kid in elementary school taking a history or government class knows that Nazi’s were enemies of mankind and that the Civil War Confederacy were traitors to their country.
Go back to elementary school and read the history of hate by Nazi’s and the KKK until it makes you angry.

  3. It’s like in school, Roger. There are bullies, and there are kids who respond to bullies. There are right ways and wrong ways to respond to bullies, but the primary issue is getting rid of bullies.

White Nationalist (Nazi) Richard Spenser says that their party leader, trump actually praised them by saying “other hate groups” thereby taking the stench from the Nazi’s. It is true, NOem/Thune/Rounds and all the rest of these Nazi sympathizers show support by not particularly denouncing them for what they are, Nazi’s. They may just as well be wearing arm identification to show their support by their lack of specifically calling them out as Nazi’s. http://www.businessinsider.com/richard-spencer-says-trump-didnt-condemn-the-alt-right-2017-8
If the leader of her party, will not openly condemn the Nazi action there and elsewhere, like the Mosque bombing in Minneapolis, then NOem has the obligation to those who sent her to Washington, to do that while doing the same towards trump.

Drumpf is THE ONE that needs to shut up.

I have absolutely nothing kind to say about this woman or her statement. If she hates Nazis, then she needs to help impeach their defacto leader.

Yes, all involved in WWII were equally guilty of using violence to further their ends.
Nothing quite like throwing grandpa, and US history, under the bus, eh, NOem and Rounds?

I didn’t need my grandpa to survive WWII and tell me his story to know that these new age white supremacists are capable of committing mass murder or “terrorism” as our President of the United States of America used to call it.

Kristi Noem knows these people have her back if her election ever looks close. Failure to call them out for the deplorables they are, in a time like this, is an attempt to court their future vote(s). She knows it, we all know it – even if some of us have a hard time admitting it to ourselves.
