We’re all feeling a little endangered nowadays, what with a Congress trying to take away our health insurance and a President handing our secrets to the Russians.
But hey, our furry, feathered, and scaly friends still need our support. The Prairie Hills Audubon Society is hosting its 11th annual Endangered Species Day on Friday, May 19 in Rapid City:
- When: Friday, May 19, 6:15 p.m. MDT
- Where: Rapid City School Admin Building community room, 300 6th St., Rapid City (use southeast entrance)
- What: Snacks and speeches!
- Who:
- Scott Larson, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, update on threatened and endangered species in South Dakota
- Erik Molvar, Western Watersheds Project, “Congressional Attacks on the Endangered Species Act” (e.g.: Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming!)
Black-footed ferrets, gray wolves, interior least terns, whooping cranes, pallid sturgeons—come learn about those endangered creatures and more in Rapid City on Friday!
Medicaid recipients, people on food stamps, the poor, elderly and veterans are all threatened specie thanks to one party’s obsession with taxcuts for the wealthy.
My apologies for getting off topic.
