Republican District 30 House candidate Tim R. Goodwin evidently thinks “exceptionalism” means he can post salacious and false information online, while campaigning, without damaging his reputation.
Goodwin also finds it appropriate to spread photographic lies about the likely Democratic nominee for President:
This fake photo was photoshopped together for a 2007 contest. Goodwin reposts it without any critical analysis.
Oh yeah, and candidate and former soldier Goodwin still hasn’t revised his website to bring it into compliance with military regulations that prohibit retired military members from using any photos of “themselves in uniform as the primary graphic representation in any campaign media.”
That photo of Goodwin in uniform remains the primary and only photo of the candidate on his campaign webpage as of 16:15 MDT today, May 9, 2016.
Thank goodness Goodwin quotes the Bible. I’m sure that makes up for posting naked pictures, spreading lies, and breaking military rules. District 30 Republicans, I eagerly await your assessment of Tim R. Goodwin’s exceptional family values.
Dude has a lousy sense of humor if he thinks that’s the best blonde joke of 2016. But that photo of him doesn’t show his hands, so we know what he’s doing. Heh heh heh

This Mr. Goodwin fellow has the grudznick stamp of disapproval. However I note his giant bill boards by Old MacDonald’s Farm dwarfing Mr. Mounces little signs along the fence.

As a former compliance officer (civilian) I took the opportunity to look up the regs and this is what I found:

4.3.2. Members included in subparagraph 4.3.1. may NOT, in campaign literature (including Web sites, videos, television, and conventional print advertisements):
4.3.2.1. Use or allow the use of photographs, drawings, and other similar media formats of themselves in uniform as the primary graphic representation in any campaign media, such as a billboard, brochure, flyer, Web site, or television commercial. For the purposes of this policy, “photographs” include video images, drawings, and all other similar formats of representational media.
But he is “exceptional” so that makes it all better. Exceptional people don’t have to follow protocol because they are exceptional. Did I mention he is exceptional?
Those are exactly the regs I’m looking at, David. Goodwin is out of compliance, right? What’s the penalty? Who enforces those regs?
Dirty politics at its best. Is it any wonder people have lost faith in political candidacy. Worse yet, nothing is done to expose the dishonest culprits and people believe what they want to believe in most cases.
Lying, misogyny, exploitation of women – but I’m religious!! Sadly, all a part of the GOP playbook these days.
M.K. Master Cory has done excellent work to expose the dirty underbelly of South Dakota politics. Personally, I believe he has gone above and beyond the call of duty as a blogger to inform the public of what is happening in their state. Unfortunately, Cory can’t make people read his work and then determine for themselves the veracity of his labor.
Grudz: The Goodwin sign at Old McDonalds Farm is the result of friendship of like minded people. The owner of Old McDonalds Farm and Goodwin are Mountain Lion slaughter buddies of the same disposition and mentality,………. Birds of a feather flock together.
Trust me Bill D. You have no worthwhile purpose in getting to know this guy. You forgot more about the outdoors and wild critters and politics than that guy ever learned.
When mainline-old-time party regulars condone this sh– their non-responsive attitude to guys like him show their complacency of party.
Look into Goodwin’s work and financial history. This guy has a significant lack of personal integrity. I went to school with his son, we did not get along. His son was renting from my folks and way behind on rent almost to be evicted so he wrote my parents a bad check to cover his son’s rent. His son promptly moved out as quickly as he could and left the place a rent. I’ve encountered them professionally a few times and they have no desire to make it right. This man thinks rules don’t apply to him and he’s better than everyone else. Exactly what we DON’T need sitting in our legislature. Anyone but Goodwin!
