Court Finally Posts Noem’s April Divorce Filing—Can Bryon Keep the Car Wash?

Kristi Noem called it quits on her marriage back in April, but the divorce filing didn’t go public until this week:

Former South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband Bryon Noem, according to court records.

Kristi Noem filed for divorce in Hamlin County on April 6 but the documents were not posted on online court service until Monday. The basis for the divorce is irreconcilable differences, court documents said.

…The divorce paperwork was filed a week after the New York Post published a story about a tabloid leaking a photo on an alleged secret life of Bryon Noem in late March. By April 1, other national media had picked up the story.

The filing was also about a month after Kristi Noem testified in a House Judiciary Committee hearing on March 4 related to her then role as the DHS Secretary. This was the day before Noem was let go on March 5.

Bryon Noem was at least some of the hearing in which Kristi Noem testified during the March 4 House Judiciary Committee hearing. At least some of the questions were about former Trump Presidential Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski and his role with the DHS. Some questions said that Lewandowski had an improper role with certain awarded contracts. Lewandowski has denied any improper roles or actions [Rae Yost, “Kristi Noem Files for Divorce,” KELO-TV, 2026.09.29].

Hold on—nearly five months pass between the filing of a court document and the court’s posting of that document? Come on, UJS—get with the 21st century!

Noem continues to have a close personal relationship with Lewandowski, evidently vacationing with him in August in the state where she supervised the murder of two innocent American citizens.

Now that Kristi and Corey have denied Bryon his dignity and his home, I can only hope they will leave him his crop insurance business… and the car wash. The financial disclosure Kristi filed in January 2025 when she was nominated for her ill-fated stint at Homeland Security reported among her spouse’s assets “Pierre Car Wash LLC”, a commercial property valued at over a million dollars. That report indicates “Pierre Car Wash LLC” generated less than $201 in income. The Secretary of State’s office has no address for the actual car wash; the initial business filing for that LLC came from the same West 57th Street Sioux Falls address that houses Redstone Law Firm. Kristi’s longtime lawyer and lobbyist friend Matthew McCaulley signed the initial filing as agent and organizer. McCaulley remained the car wash agent through the most recent state filing in October 2025, though the authorized person signing last year’s filing was Watertown dentist, Bryon’s business partner, and big Kristi donor Brian Prouty.

Kristi got to use her corporate holdings to funnel money to Corey’s business; let Bryon keep the car wash, which would be a great place to have his online friends come work.
