Speaking of Republican-on-Republican rhetorical violence and the Noem family’s general scuzziness, the Republican crony-consultants at A1 Development Solutions are suing Kristi Noem’s son-in-law for cheating them out of the business deals they hired him to get:
Court documents describe A1 Development as a company which helps South Dakota clients with development, construction, permitting and government relations. Kyle Peters, who is husband to Noem’s daughter Kassidy Peters, is also a Watertown city councilman.
…The lawsuit filed Feb. 19 in Codington County says Kyle Peters once worked for A1 Development and later became an independent contractor. Court documents allege “Peters used his position to wrongfully divert business from A1 Development to his own personal benefit for at least 11 separate clients.” The lawsuit also says Peters helped an unnamed “Client A” in possibly buying South Dakota land listed at a value of more than $170 million; this was “for a future data center project.” The suit alleges “Peters is not a licensed real estate agent yet kept this opportunity from A1 Development, which is a licensed brokerage firm perfectly suited to assist with such a purchase.”
The lawsuit goes on to allege this unnamed Client A made offers to Peters and Josh Teigen, another defendant, for $300,000 annually plus possible bonuses and ownership interest in the unnamed client. The suit says the defendants took these offers. According to the lawsuit, the offers came in while Peters’ LLC, Bad River Development, was part of A1 Development. As of early Monday evening, no court date has yet been set in the lawsuit [Dan Santella, “Noem Son-in-Law Sued, Lawyer Says Claims Lack Merit,” KELO-TV, 2026.03.02].
Paul, G. Mark, and Ty had better watch out: Kyle’s mother-in-law may send ICE goons to rifle the A1 files looking for complicity with CAFOs in hiring illegal aliens.
Kyle and Kassidy, Corey and Kristi. Rhyming runs in the family. Peters do too. Its all so lovely, can’t wait for the movie. A data center too, South Dakota is keeping up with the times.
