Dick Cheney: Trump Is a Coward, Must Never Return to White House

Republicans, repeat after Dick—Donald Trump is a coward and the greatest individual threat to the United States of America:

In our nation’s 246 years, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our Republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He is a coward. A real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters. He lost his election and he lost big. I know it; he knows it; and deep down, I think most Republicans know it.

Lynn and I are so proud of Liz for Standing up for the truth, doing what’s right, honoring her oath to the Constitution when so many in our party are too scared to do so. Liz is fearless. She never backs down from a fight. There is nothing more important she will ever do than lead the effort to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office [Dick Cheney, campaign ad for Liz Cheney, posted 2022.08.04].

Saying these words does not exonerate Dick Cheney for all the ills he brought upon this nation by fostering the Bush II Presidency. Repeating Cheney’s words will not exonerate Republicans for capitulating to the fascism of Donald Trump. But Dick Cheney is speaking the truth about the menace Donald Trump poses to our Republic. If a majority of Republican voters (maybe fewer than that, but let’s not take chances) will say Cheney’s words publicly and vote accordingly, they will save us from the disaster of a Trump return to the White House and a resumption of Trump’s American carnage. We can remove Donald Trump from the public spotlight and get back to critiquing the other practical and philosophical hazards endemic to the Republican Party.

  1. Dick Cheney still has Secret Service access and is the very face of the deep state. He knows as much as nearly anyone about the Trump family.

There is little doubt in my mind that damning evidence linking the Trump Organization to the Port Authority and beyond was destroyed on 9/11. The Trump Organization is an equal opportunity money launderer doing it for CIA and other deep state actors for decades.

  2. Willy

The Bush/Cheney liars prepped the path for Trump. Still, Dick is right about Trump.

  3. Notice that Willy’s two statements are not mutually exclusive. Cheney harmed this country, but Cheney is right that Trump has done harm and that Republicans must act to stop him, as daughter Liz Cheney is doing.

Imagine if George W. Bush would make an identical video. How many Republican leaders need to speak up before John Thune, Mike Rounds, Dusty Johnson, and Kristi Noem will tell the truth about Trump?

  4. Or Pete Ricketts or Deb Fischer or Ben Sasse or Jeff Fortenberry or Yvette Herrell or …..

Cheney in a white hat is a joke in itself. He is no shrinking virgin and sure as hell isn’t a “:Good Guy!”

He needs to visit the World Court as a defendant war criminal!

  6. Guy

Sorry Cory, I have to agree with Mike from Iowa on this one.

I wasn’t old enough to vote against Cheney and Bush and didn’t understand much of the unforgivable plots of the time, but Dr. Leonard Horowitz got me up to speed when I stumbled upon a DVD called In Lies We Trust. It starts out with a screen that requires everyone in possession of it to create at least two copies to help spread the news. Hopefully you check it out so I can fulfill that obligation. Most of you might know most of the things exposed with stone cold evidence. Dick Cheney is definitely woven into the cloth of greed and murder.

Well…while Dick Chaney’s record is chilling…most damning is his insistence that we could conquer Iraq and occupy it to turn it into a bastion of democracy in the Middle East..(and create a competitor in the oil market for Saudi Arabia). Thousands of Americans died fighting Asians in Asia. But, in this instance, he is serving as the voice of the Bush wing of the Republican Party. The old Bush people have no use for Trump, and Trump had no use for them. The Bush wing has money and experience, and a willingness to take on Trump. Wind ’em up and let them go.

    Arlo, well written. Thanks.
Dick Cheney and his ilk had a flat learning curve from Vietnam, trying to double-down on Iraq and Afghanistan with deplorable, predictable results. Now the US military can’t recruit — at least the US youth don’t have a flat learning curve.
Yes, here we should allow the republican party wings to feast on themselves. They created this political monster beginning 45+ years ago with the Powell Memo and the art of no domestic political compromise. The democrats also had a flat learning curve . . . guilty of gross negligence to aggressively countering the threats to the republic.

Mr. Cheney is one of the swellest fellows from back in the Bush era. He is a tough, snarling, yet fun gentleman, who enjoyed the Great State of South Dakota and his neighbors to the east. It is good to see him call out Mr. Trump as one completely inappropriate ogre who was unfit to be The President the last time.

You know what? I’ll be blunt and short. They’re ALL Reptilians and deserve to to the dirt nap.

  12. grudznick

It it early on a Friday but good to see Ms. Fairbank has her libbie hate and rage already out and about. Woe be to the biker fellows who ask her to dance tonight at Frankie’s place.

Bush family was in bed with Saudi royal family and did business with bin-ladin family up to, at least, 9/11 and likely ;later as well. Don’t forget the photo of dumbass dubya kissing the Saudi King on the mouth.

I loathed Dick Cheney when he was Vice President, but I’d remind folks that America is facing an existential threat from Donald Trump, and now is not the time to apply purity tests to those who are now willing to be our allies in defeating him and the cultists who slavishly follow him. I don’t celebrate a single thing about Dick Cheney’s 8 years as vice-president, but I sure as hell celebrate his condemnation of Donald Trump, and it seems to me that others should, as well.

What an incredibly sensitive remark from you, Grudz – ALL the 66-year-old widows with sketchy hearts and lungs I know line up to dance to The Texas Hippie Coalition with toothless bikers at Frankies’s Place (?)
Honestly, all of us raging and hateful libbies here at DFP are eagerly anticipating midterms to watch the Reptilians drag notable coprolites Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich out of their slimy dens to lie and piss on The Constitution.

  16. mike from iowa

This universe is not vast enough to tolerate two egos the size of drumpf’s and Cheney’s. They could not co-exist in the same party so Cheney’s condemnatioin of drumpf means nothing, especially to drumpf. OTOH, it seems hilarious

  17. Skimming Wyoming media this morning reveals a huge wave of Democrats crossing over to vote for Liz Cheney in that state’s upcoming primary. The bad news? It won’t be nearly enough since Earth haters run Wyoming just like they do in South Dakota.
