Human Touch: State Gives Crystal/Reiki Vendor Coronavirus Cash

In small change, on January 13, 2021, the State of South Dakota issued $721.20 in coronavirus relief money to Vital Vibes of Sioux Falls. Vital Vibes sells crystals and reiki, a Japanese term for touching which translates as “Divine Wisdom + Universal Life Force,” or in classical vernacular, hokum.

Vital Vibes proprietor Alicia Pauković provides this résumé:

In my search for health, in 2019, I was introduced to a healing modality called Reiki. Since then I have been researching and practicing different styles of reiki and quantum healing techniques along with crystal healing. I found my passion with using and working with crystals and essential oils. Both crystals and oils have metaphysical properties and carry precise frequencies which can help to raise your vibration and balance your energetic body. They work synergistically along with reiki to activate your body’s natural healing ability.

I would love to share this passion of mine with you, and I look forward to meeting with you, whether it be in a in-person healing session, distance session, or in one of my virtual courses.

Sending you Love and Light,
Alicia Paukovic

One could argue that this $721.20 welfare check is among the overpayments our private consultant Guidehouse let slip through the cracks. But hey—in giving Vital Vibes a few bucks from Kristi’s coronavirus trough, we’re not actually subsidizing quackery, right? We’re just subsidizing Pauković’s ability to sell quackery to willing customers. And the pandemic social distancing surely got in the way of touching customers, so if people couldn’t come pay for Pauković’s placebo touches, then her coronavirus-damaged business model deserves as much support as Senator Al Novstrup’s brother-in-law does to make up for folks not riding bumper cars as much.

Still, I have to wonder—why wasn’t business up at the crystal/reiki shop? With all that divine power coursing through their veins, couldn’t reiki masters have stopped coronavirus?

Reiki and crystals, at least, haven’t caused anyone to die, unlike Kovid Kristi.

  2. The human touch on your crystals is always good. Medvedev won his first match too, just six more to a great payday.

Mark – not that I was down, but the sharps bet Paul and took the spread. They won.

i.e. – In tennis you bet the number of sets each player wins. The line was Medvedev minus 9.5 sets. Final score was Paul 3 3 5 to Medvedev 6 6 7. The cost was minus 110. So, if you bet a dollar on Paul plus 9.5 sets, you won 90 cents. A good two hours work, I’d say.

    Just sayin’ …

Oops. Medvedev was playing Bublik. Paul is tomorrow at 1:00.
Maybe the “crystal” was giving us a premonition, huh?

Mark A. – Just for fun, you can watch the match and try to predict.
-I’ll predict that in five years SD will have statewide sports wagering.
-The donkey brained Republicans will become aware that gambling is a conservative thing, not a liberal pastime.
    -Medvedev is minus 6 sets @ -115.
So, if he wins in straight sets 6 6 6, that’s 18. The other player would need two games with 4 set wins each and one game with 5 set wins, plus the 6 from the sports book, to get to 19.
-That seems like a tough task against a player the quality of Medvedev.
-I’d take Medvedev minus 6 sets. A dollar bet would win .85 cents plus your dollar back.
    -Just sayin’ … #grins
