GET YOUR SHOTS!!! Beat Coronavirus, Get South Dakota Back to Normal

CAH, tweet, 2021.04.10.
CAH, tweet, 2021.04.10.

Hey, neighbors: my wife and I didn’t go get our shots for nothing. But some of you folks with your “vaccine hesitancy”—that’s the au courant term for “knuckleheaded selfishness”—are keeping South Dakota from beating coronavirus and getting back to normal:

South Dakota has been a national leader in providing coronavirus vaccines to older residents and others at high risk of complications from COVID-19.

But as the vaccine rollout expanded to Phase 2, making anyone 16 and older eligible for vaccination, the demand for shots has waned and concerns have risen that herd immunity may be unobtainable.

“It’s definitely concerning, and it’s truly a race against time,” said Dr. Shankar Kurra, vice president of medical affairs at Monument Health in Rapid City. “If we don’t get to that threshold of herd immunity, we could end up losing the race and having a new surge or wave of cases and unfortunately more hospitalizations and deaths.”

…Failure to get enough people vaccinated could allow the current COVID-19 pandemic to linger and raises the likelihood that coronavirus variants, which appear to spread faster and more easily, would take hold and spread freely even among those who were vaccinated against the original version of the virus, Kurra said.

“That is what the race is about, to stop this pandemic, to prevent transmission so we don’t get new variants, and finally to return to normal,” Kurra said. “We can do this and actually end everything, and we won’t have to be talking about COVID anymore” [Bart Pfankuch, “Vaccine Hesitancy in South Dakota Could Prolong Pandemic and Delay a Return to Normal,” South Dakota News Watch, 2021.04.14].

There’s too much at stake—lives and normal community life—to pussyfoot or “invite you to choose.” Every public servant and every patriot should be saying this to every South Dakotan every day until it happens: GET YOUR SHOTS!!!

The surge in new infections especially of the highly contagious Covid-19 variants is squarely on the shoulders of Kristi Noem. Her unmasked travels around the south to promote that looser Trump and his hand-picked wannabe US Senators show her disdain for the well being of us South Dakotans and here selfish need to look presidential. Even if she did not carry the new strains of the killer virus personally, her dismissal and deny of mask effectiveness gave false credence to all the puppet deniers here in our communities. SHAME on you Kristi Noem.

  2. Porter Lansing

Pew asked: Who wants the vaccine immediately when available?
    Republicans – 24%
    Democrats- 66%
    Independent – 42%

What’s holding SD back is poorly educated people influencing future poorly educated kids.

  3. grudznick

Welcome to the immune herd, Mr. H.

  4. grudznick

By the way, is that the bottom of a bean can with a sticker on it, stuck to your shirt by the remnants of some old legume juice? Or is Avera wasting a ton of the covid bug money on high end badges? Did Mr. PP get the contract to provide them vaccine badges, and trick you into wearing one?

  5. Caleb

Cory, I’d recommend adding a couple details to your post. The CDC says:

    1) Even if one has had COVID-19, they should still get vaccinated.
    2) Even after being fully vaccinated, one should not stop wearing a mask or keeping distant from others.

  6. I welcome the details, Caleb. But if you give me just one tweet, the message every person in America needs to get is GET YOUR SHOTS!!!

Well Cory, just read about vaccine stupidity in SD. A teacher from Sturgis wonders if she will need to have proof of vaccination to travel to New Zealand, anybody want to answer that one foks? Her names —— —— and yes she did go to SDSU. She’s also worried she wouldn’t be a fertile myrtle if she got the shot, again, this is a teacher by the way. A ——- ——- a nurse, works at a nursing home for criminy’s sake, not convinced the vaccinations are safe, she trusts her immune system. Well, well, good luck South Dakota, you need it. I went back and took out their names because I’m a nice guy. You can read them on Keloland.com.

~ It Ain’t Gonna Happen, Cory
-SD majority won’t embrace Covid vaccine for one reason. Because it’s new. Anything new is NOT to be trusted!

-Republicans nationwide continue to obsess over the risks from Covid vaccines — because they are so new and salient.

-Counties that voted for Donald Trump have lower vaccination rates.

-A car trip is a bigger threat, to you and others. About 100 Americans are likely to die in car crashes today.

-The new federal data suggests that either zero or one vaccinated person will die today from Covid.

  9. You are assuming too many premises.

If we are taking a scientific approach, why take a vaccine with comparable down side to just getting the virus?

Because it’s conditioning to make you accept increasingly draconian measures.

Those that promulgate this have been promised leadership positions in the subsequent regime.

However, historically – USSR, CCP – these people are the first to get the firing squads for being feckless and evil cowards.

Drugged-out Communist jack boots press people into servitude and despair with all the moral sensibilities of flushing a gold fish while it is still living because cleaning the bowl was too much work.

The truth about the virus is at PlainsTribune.com, where we aren’t really at war with anyone despite enduring sustained financial and social attacks for nearly two decades. The outcome of these information systems driven offensives is such that I look like certain things .. and I am most certainly not these things.

What am I? Well, I war my heart on my sleeve at https://PlainsTribune.com, where sponsors do not dictate the content.

I hope you’ll join me in the peaceful recognition of truth, data, facts, and logic as it applies to this issue.

I can’t type it out here .. but I’m happy to respond to questions, and as always Cory is welcome to come on my show for a good and lively discussion/debate on the issues on merit.

    Sincerely,

    John Dale

  10. Vaccination rates are a key performance metric.

The fewer people get vaccinated, the more the truth has penetrated this dastardly fascistic facade.

  11. The inventor of the PCR test says it should not be used to look for coronavirus infections.

    This is a fact.

Vaccinations, for me, are like food security in an important way.

You have to be able to pick your own off the shelf to ensure you haven’t been targeted.

    It’s the “Safeway”.

    That is all.

  12. Porter Lansing

@John Dale – rhymes with Fail

The Claim – The PCR test isn’t suitable for testing for viruses or Covid-19.

The Verdict – Claims on social media have either incorrectly or misleadingly – depending on the claim – attributed quotes to the creator of PCR testing, Kary Mullis, that suggest he was opposed to using PCR tests to test for viruses like Covid-19.

  13. Dicta

I’ve responded to this exact claim made by this exact same idiot before, Porter. Dale will completely ignore it and keep on making the claim anyway. Welcome to cloud cuckoo land.

  14. Porter Lansing

John Dale is as transparent as glass.
He’s only here to shock and use DFP for free advertising.

  15. Dicta

Given his recent stumping on DWC, I suspect he is going to run for some sort of office again.

  16. We’re being pushed to take a genetic therapy (it is not a vaccine in the traditional sense) that is something like 85% effective against a virus that has a 99.4% recovery rate in order to cut down on the 1% to 5% “hospitalizations and deaths” that are from 78% obese folks.

  17. Porter Lansing

That a lie from lying John Dale.
    No valid documentation.
    No validity, what so ever.
    Sorry, young man.
    You fail, again.

  18. bearcreekbat

Porter, another valid descriptive term for such made up claims, or claims copied from bogus internet posts, is “phonus-balonus.”

  19. o

In a nation that has an adult obesity rate of over 42%, it would be wrong to dismiss that underlying condition as irrelevant.

But for John Dale and fellow Right-wing extremists, what is the death of 567,000 “statistically unimportant people” when there is political posturing to do?

  20. For those who have listened to my program, you have heard the PCR test inventor speak for himself.

    As it should be.

    Dale does rhyme with fail.

But it also rhymes with male, and pale, and sale, and sail, and ..

I’m stumping for the truth .. if you think you know it, come on my show.

We’ll be heard by a lot of discerning folks, and we can find the precise answers together, including how to avoid the kind of angst that would cause somebody to do something like .. this.

    :(

  21. Porter Lansing

    I’m the gardener, John Dale.
I’m here to dump bleach down your spider holes of lies and subterfuge, John Dale.
    Nothing truthful here folks.
Stay as long as you like.

  22. “John Dale and fellow Right-wing extremists” – this is slander. Or defamation? I don’t know .. not a lawyer. If it’s funny, it’s money. This comment is in the red, like many conservatives who have had their reputations unduly soiled in this fashion.

Me: “Where are all the flu deaths this year?”

Them: “Oh, there wasn’t any contact because of the lock downs so we saw that decline.”

Me: “So, how did Covid transfer, then?”

Them: “You’re a fascist racist woman hating white male.”

Me: “Oh. I guess you’re right and you’re definitely not a narcissistic sociopath who ignores the evidence. But also, South Dakota didn’t truly lock down, neither did Sweden and others, and their relative ‘pandemic’ data was not anomalous.”

The stunning thing about this is that .. spreading the disinformation on purpose in this scenario really is criminal.

Like Dr. Rand Paul keeps saying, let’s err on the side of human freedom and hope for the best (that the mind control drugs pouring into the state somehow stop, and that we can get back to educating people with reason, facts, logic, and scientific inquiry).

    Sincerely,

    John Dale

  23. There is a very good reason 1) why PCR tests were used in the beginning, and 2) why we cannot rely on them, now.

  24. bearcreekbat

The thought that labeling someone a “Right wing extremist” is slander is a revealing statement. It suggests that there is something bad about being “Right wing,” since the definition of “extreme” is merely, “reaching a high or the highest degree; very great.”

  25. o

My dear Mr. Dale, it was not my intent to misidentify your political leanings. Please correct me where I erred: do you not consider yourself “right”(as opposed to “left”) in the political spectrum? Do you not find your beliefs to the further side away from “left?”

It only cam to me in my survey of literature and rhetoric on the topic of COVID vaccines that you and the far right had an intersection of rhetoric. Thus I grouped you with them.

Allow me to define “extremist” in my context here: extremists are those who elevate the slightest of individual inconvenience to the level of equal importance to public safety. It is the selfish, sophomoric philosophy of Ayn Rand.

btw, COVID transferred when the flu did not (as much) because COVID has a higher infection rate; and the flu cases are not reported in most of the US.

  26. Dicta

Looks like someone doesn’t know the difference between statements of fact and statements of opinion in a legal setting. But, shockingly, Dale claims something is a tort anyway. Pretty in keeping with your character, bud.

  27. John Dale

Flu vs covid .. so in the least, we have bad data?

Can you find me multiple independent credible scientific teams that successfully isolated covid-19?

“extremist” – my dispositions can be found at PlainsTribune.com .. hours and hours and hours of them. Extreme is like the N word. It is too imprecise to be trusted for anything serious.

I have never called for violence, I like liberty, I have nuanced and substantive views on issues. Mostly, that causes me to appreciate life, be a cannabis advocate, musician, husband, and father.

But maybe more than anything else, I want my fellow South Dakotans to be correct about things.

Far right != anti covid GENETIC THERAPY.

Why masks and jabs and not zinc, D, and C?

Must be some other reason than has been stated, because the data boiling up from the grass roots is inconsistent with the claims of our dear leaders pushing this.

I pray to God South Dakotas jabs are the placebos.

    John

  28. When I think of people getting this therapy (the J&J jab is not MRNA apparently, but it also has some very bad things happening for those who are on the leading edge of this), I think of this clip:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwD7f5ZWhAk

    Godspeed .. it’s your life.

But I’m loading up on Peas (lots of zinc), vitamins, and getting exercise.

I am pretty sure I got Covid, but it was difficult to tell. I stayed home for a few days like with every sniffle I’ve ever gotten.

    ZINC, D3, and C. ZINC, D3, and C. ZINC, D3, and C. ZINC, D3, and C. ZINC, D3, and C.

Talk to your doctor about what vitamins you might take to help your immune system. CDC recommends ZINC, D3, and C.

    That is all.

“Police in Italy were called to investigate 20 people having lunch in a local building over lockdown violations. they caught the group preparing to cook about 65 protected songbirds”.nyt

In Cambodia covid is spiking as a group dodged lock down. Nyt

Perhaps billionaire elites really will have to live on space stations and mine the moon and mars to maintain their 24 carat gold leaf toilets and $10000 bottles of wine. I have a super rich cousin from the 60s who now lives in Aspen and does nothing but drink expensive wine. Worthless.

Sen. Mitch McConnell: “Under this administration, we’ll no longer have illegal aliens. Not because they’ll secure the border just because they now will be called non-citizens or undocumented migrants.” All Mitch and John Thune do every day is spinning up some concoction of divisive word soup and Republicans stir up louder, with more rage. Thats it. Governing from top Republicans. No wonder Kristi is such a glaring fool—with a following. To think she could ever be considered presidential is as funny as Geo Bush, Reagan, Schwartznegger, Palin, Pence, McCarthy, or the biggest, dumbest clown/puppet/tool—Trump. Managed by Mitch. Putin has such “ammunition” to work with from Republicans.

Hope. “As covid relief money floods in, pandemic-battered cities see a chance to transform. Mayors nationwide say federal aid represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity.” Wapo

Get Well Soon, Ted-Head – Even a MAGA-Hole like you doesn’t deserve to die for being stubborn.

Rocker Ted Nugent announced on Facebook he tested positive for COVID-19 Monday after suffering flu-like symptoms for 10 days.

“Everybody told me I should not announce this,” Nugent said at the beginning of the nearly 9-minute video.

The 72-year-old, who previously claimed COVID-19 was “not a real pandemic,” described having a “stuffed up head,” body aches and that he “literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days.”

“I thought I was dying,” he said, stopping periodically for his self-described “rattily cough.”
