Per brand spanking-new city ordinance, Brandon residents can shoot fireworks in town this year—just don’t do it from the sidewalk!
This year all fireworks available for purchase from a licensed South Dakota Fireworks store will be legal within city limits.
Restrictions apply for all public sidewalks, streets, alleyways and property.
Fireworks can be discharged on private property only with the owner’s consent [Rich Keller, “Brandon Fireworks Ordinance,” KELO Radio, 2020.06.21].
Brandon will be a free-fire zone from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 3 and July 4 only. Keep it safe, kids!
Good idea. I’m sure their Fire Department needs something to do. /s
This is good news, for the fellows who live in Brandon town. Let us hope Rapid City follows in suit, perhaps in spades.
