DeSautel Quits DSS; Who Gets the Next Noem Promotion?

Last updated on 2019-05-04

Department of Social Services Secretary Greg DeSautel has quit the Noem Administration just four months after agreeing to take the job.

Why leave so soon? I suppose $125,000 isn’t enough to make up for the giving up his paycheck for doctoring in Sioux Falls and having to put up with Her Highness’s Melania-esque really-not-caring about the people whom DSS is supposed to serve.

Or it could just be that, with her daughter Kassidy tying the knot June 1 with early Noem hire Kyle Peters, it’s finally time to give Kassidy her promotion alongside little* sis Kennedy. Plus, Open.SD.gov tells me that Tristen Rhoden is no longer doing “Advanced Professional Work” with his high school diploma and Trumpy thumb for the state, so there’s room in state government for another Executive Family hire.

*Correction 2019.05.04 23:03: Somehow I mixed up the age order and thought Kennedy was the older daughter. Kurt Evans below corrects me. I apologize for the error and thank Kurt for his keen eye.

By age or height, I’m pretty sure the big sis is actually Kassidy.

Age or height? Yup, she is fully qualified for a state job. It warms my heart to know some people’s kids get pulled up by their Gucci family connection bootstraps.
