You know that post I wrote last Wednesday asking if Kris Langer might be the likely choice for Senate Majority Leader?
Republicans picked my pick for majority leader, replacing Sioux Falls Senator R. Blake Curd, who was there at caucus, asking for the top spot again, with Dell Rapids Senator Kris Langer. Dang—maybe Republicans were upset with Curd for replacing Deb Peters with Jeff Partridge as treasurer for the Senate Republican Campaign Committee but failing to make that change on the campaign finance report! Never make the caucus look bad on the blogs, R. Blake!
The Republican caucus now matches their Democratic Capitol colleagues in having elected one—just one—woman to any Legislative leadership position. But Republicans can crow that they’ve put a woman in charge of their much bigger ship (and really, while I love Sioux Falls Representative-Elect Erin Healy and am sure she will make the most of her minority whip position in the House, how much whipping will eleven woefully minoritous Democrats need?).
So what about Langer? Is she moderate? (Hoping) Or far right SDGOP grafter? (Hope not) Pootiepublican? (Really hope not) Or some other flavor GOP?
Saner than many I am told, Ms. Geelsdottir, saner than many. What, my I inquire, is a pootiepublican? Is that a bathroom fixated prudish young fellow?
“bathroom fixated prudish young fellow”
What are you fixated on??
Pootie= Putin. One of the GOP owned by Pootie.
Langer is a doofus…and I’m Republican.
She voted against paying our teachers more.
Cheapskate.
Why yes, T, Langer did vote against 2016 HB 1182, while Curd voted for it. SDEA’s PAC had the good sense not to include her in the Republicans it supported, but it did give $500 to the Senate Republican Campaign Committee
