Billie Sutton and Kristi Noem appear in their second TV debate tonight, this time with Libertarian Kurt Evans to get his shot at shaking up the race and offering himself as a viable alternative to the two major parties. (Hmm… you want balance? Elect a Republican House, a Democratic Senate, and a Libertarian governor!) Stephanie Rissler will lightly braise the candidates on public television starting at 8 p.m. Central, 7 Mountain.
If you’re in Vermillion, you can get an undercard match! The University of South Dakota Political Science League (they should have capes!) hosts the candidates for Attorney General at 7 p.m. tonight in the Muenster Center Ballroom A. Watch Democratic candidate Randy Seiler once again explain his superior résumé while Republican party flunky Jason Ravnsborg explains why spending four years campaigning for a political nomination makes him an effective prosecutor.
Off good, I’m looking forward to watching Sutton tonight so I can hear what other things he supports to show everyone he is a DINO.

~ When Billie made a point about a questionable Noem campaign finance tactic, Kristie did an East coast. fast talk, sales pitch and ended with, “It’s all perfectly legal.”
~ When candidates were asked if they’d live in Pierre, Kristi admitted, NO. But using the Governor’s mansion for kids tours would help so many.
Billie said, “Sure. If I need to get to the ranch, it’s only an hour and a half drive.”
And if it is too crowded in the MUC down in Vermillion, you can head over to the city council chambers for the District 17 Candidate Public Forum from 7:00 – 9:00pm!
I received one of those “Vote for the Only Pro-life Candidate” postcards from Noem today. Man, does she deserve to lose. What a liar.
If she again attacks him for naming a pro-choice Lieutenant Governor in tonight’s debate, he should remind her that her hero, Ronald Reagan, did the same. And I would bet Sutton has been pro-life longer than Noem’s great benefactor… Donald Trump. The same “I am very pro-choice” Donald Trump.

I noticed that Noem was really uncomfortable when Sutton brought up her out-of-state fundraising percentage in their first debate. She must see it as a big weak spot.
Noem’s out-of-state funders are going to have to pony up again to save her. One million? Two?
Marty finally endorsed Noem. That must have taken quite the effort. Can you guess? Did they…. beg…. bribe…. or threaten?
Mr. Evans looks especially spiffy tonight. I, for one, am glad they let our friend participate in the debating.

And did you live in South Dakota back in 2010 when Kristi challenged Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin for Congress? And Kristi was exposed as a speed demon who racked up dozens of traffic tickets over a few year’s time. And didn’t pay the fines – until she was called on the carpet. Now what kind of person doesn’t accept responsibility for their transgressions and admin fault. And pay their fines. Someone who thinks they are above the law and above everyone else. She lacks good character. I think she’s a narcissist but that’s just my opinion.
Kristi misleads the public when – as a member of Congress – she cranks out a press release exclaiming that a bill she introduced in Congress was approved by a vote in the House. What she used to fail to mention was that the bill(s) were then sent to a committee in the Senate. Where the majority of them died a slow, agonizing death because the Senate took no action.
It’s hard to tell if Kristi is lying or not. She has a history …

Black Hills folk are still voting Noem because we are tired of politicians that say one thing but do another. Billie said he backed the communist Bernie then he lied about backing the communist Bernie. That would be called a lie where we live.

Kristi Noem, can’t help it, and uses “alternative facts” from her team to recite hoping if she says them enough people will believe her. She’s got nothing else.

Kurt said Noah’s flood screwed up the distribution of artifacts that would have proved his young-earth belief. On the other hand, he provided some much-needed comic relief to the “debate.”
Kristi said of her view on a state income tax versus what she falsely said was Sutton’s view, “That’s the difference between he and I.”
She’s a product of public schools in SoDak. The proper use of the language would have been, “That’s the difference between him and me.”
Just one example of how SoDak schools are failing and offending you and me. (Notice I didn’t say, “…offending you and I.”)

Informed voters would not buy this rubbish about Senator Bernie Sanders being a Communist. What a cheap shot. Using the term “Commie” to mislead intelligent South Dakotans. While it is okay for Public officials to make deals under the table with Putin? I thought those were cheap tactics used to scare off voters in the 50’s or 60’s. South Dakotans are better than that. Stick to the facts and not tell lies and use people who are not on the ballot as a scare tactics. I don’t respect those who tell lies out of desperation to win votes. It’s disgusting!
Clara, I guess I’m confused. If Sutton said he supported Bernie’s ideas does that not mean he supports communist? Bille did say he supported Bernie’s views. There is a video of him saying he supported Bernie’s views. Bernie is an avowed communist. Sutton supports Bernie. if you support the communist views and ideology are you not a communist?
I just don’t know how to rectify this issue. Sutton supports communist that have killed 100’s of millions of people yet you are telling us he isn’t a danger to the people. What are we to think?

The Truth ~ Bernie is a DemSocialist which is day and night different than a Communist. DemSocalists use government to buy necessities for the people at a highly reduced rate. (Think Co-Op, REA, police and fire depts., schools, road building, infrastructure and COSTCO). Communism is when the govt. tells you what your job is going to be, how much you’ll make, where you’ll live and how much you’ll pay for everything.
PS … No matter what propaganda the military force fed you, Russia was never socialist. Lenin added Socialist to the name USSR to attract other revolutionaries (like Castro and Mao, eventually) to Communism. In USSR the people owned nothing.
