If we South Dakota Democratic Convention delegates stick with our schedule (platform and resolutions debate begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with ten minutes max allotted to each of twelve platform subcommittees) and don’t get bogged down in resolutions, we’ll have time to catch the last part of the Sioux Falls Pride Festival Saturday at Terrace Park (hey! and that’s close to the convention center! we could walk there!)
The Pride Festival has enjoyed increasing success since its first try in 2012:
Sioux Falls Pride is a vibrant diverse community celebration that honors lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) culture and pride. Sioux Falls Pride and grown from 600 to nearly 9,000 attendees in the past several years and we only hope that number to grow as we increase the festival offerings. Sponsors include the Minnehaha County Democrats, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Sanford, Wellmark, AARP, Midco, Ron’s Garage, and (dang it) Annabelle’s/Olivia’s sex-commodification shops. But hey, if I’m going to razz Tim Bjorkman for not taking some Democratic money, I can’t come down too hard on Pride Festival organizers for being more open about whose sponsorship money they accept to promote our common goals of liberty and justice for all.
Corporate money should not be confused with State Party money. Two entirely different things.
Thats great that the SF Pride festival is doing so well. LBTG young folks are among the top ranks of suicides. Events like these save lives because those young people have concrete evidence that there is a lot of support for them.

Are the SD Democrats going to set up a register to vote booth at the Pride Festival in Sioux Falls? They should, perfect opportunity.
And remember Kristi Noem is against a same sex person’s freedom to marry. She won’t do anything to fight for your rights.
Debbo is right, the LGBT have staggeringly high rates of suicide. Billie Sutton and the Democrats will fight for more money to go towards mental health. Kristi Noem won’t, so just admit it Pubs. You are the party that wants to stigmatize the LGBT with your separate bathroom philosophy and conversion therapy. Trump endorsed the anti-LGBT stance with the transgender military ban.
