Kobach’s Endorsement of Krebs Losing Luster; Lawsuit Shows Voter Fraud Claims Bogus

Secretary of State and Congressional candidate Shantel Krebs continues to tout her Trumpiness by kissing up to Kris Kobach, her counterpart in Kansas. Embracing Kobach’s endorsement only gets eggier—yesterday, Kobach got crushed in court, as a lawsuit brought by the ACLU against Kobach’s blatant voter suppression in Kansas exposed the utter bogosity of Kobach’s and Trump’s claims of widespread illegal voting swaying the 2016 election:

Kobach, who led President Donald Trump’s election integrity commission and is now running for governor, hired Hans von Spakovsky of the Heritage Foundation to support his claim that illegal votes by non-citizens had swung US elections. But under questioning from ACLU lawyer Dale Ho, von Spakovsky admitted he couldn’t name a single election where votes by non-citizens had decided the outcome.

Kobach cited Jesse Richman, a professor of political science at Old Dominion University, to defend the charge that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote in 2016 because of millions of illegal votes. But when Ho asked Richman if illegal votes had provided the margin for Clinton, Richman said “no” [Ari Berman, “Kris Kobach Just Got Humiliated in Federal Court,” Mother Jones, 2018.03.20].

Two lessons here:

  1. Don’t hire a guy named Hans von Spakovsky for anything other than henchman in an evil supervillain plot to steal all the world’s marshmallows. (Secretary Krebs herself had to rebut bogus claims Spakovsky made about voter fraud in South Dakota in 2015.)
  2. Put these fake-newsers under oath. Kobach, Trump, and their relativist, nihilist enablers have no compunction about lying to voters and reporters. But lying to a judge makes them back down and admit they’ve been pulling our legs.

Candidate Krebs, it’s time to stop trying to out-Trump Neal Tapio, whose bigoted vomit only exposes the moral sickness at the core of your party. Drop the Kobach and his Trumpist lies and get back on the higher road with your real competitor, the ceaselessly perky and mostly honest Dusty Johnson.

Krebs has really disappointed me with the positions she has adopted in her run for Congress, Dusty Johnson should be able to win the Republican primary by coloring within the lines and polishing his Boy Scout medals, Tapio will come in third, he spends too much time diving down rabbit holes.

Kobach facved a dubya appointed judge yesterday who was interested in why she shouldn’t hold him in contempt for not informing Kansas voters they were eligible to vote from a court order she issued 2 years ago/

Kobach did his best Drumpf impersonation and tossed every Kansas election official under the bus except himself. She may rule as soon as today on whether he gets contempt.

Tapio down rabbit holes… Trump went down the same rabbit holes, and he won.

It occurs to me that Tapio is missing one key component of the Trump formula for victory: domination of the airwaves. The national news media gave Trump invaluable free press. Unless I’m missing something on other channels, Tapio’s Trump act barely registers in the South Dakota media.

Will Tapio get enough free coverage to win the primary?

Ms. Krebs is going to dominate the air waves, but Mr. Dusty has the policy chops. Mr. Tapio owns the votes of the insaner people. grudznick has Dusty/50, Tapio/26, Krebs/24. But you won’t know it because Ms. Krebs’ staff will doctor the votes to make it look like she came in second.

Just another blonde. This stereotype is too easy.
