Governor Dennis Daugaard visited the Hub City this sunny, breezy late summer afternoon to celebrate the opening of the A-TEC Academy on the Aberdeen Central High School campus. Governor Daugaard gave the Aberdeen school district two million dollars from the Future Fund, the economic development fund he controls, to help build this five-million-dollar career and technical education facility for area high school students.
Here are the Governor’s full remarks to the crowd of Aberdonian businesspeople, pols, and tech students:
For the record, Governor Daugaard uttered the phrase, “great philosophers” in his speech. He still thinks philosophers will have a hard time paying off student loans, but he at least recognizes philosophers can be great.
I’ll have photos and deeper discussion of the event later today. Stay tuned!
Hmmm. I’d like to know whom Daugaard thinks are great philosphers. Besides Bill Janklow and Roger Hunt, I mean.
Bob, hahahahahahahaha!
