Daugaard Subtle-Tweets Resistance to Lederman Seizure of SDGOP Chair

As another sign that the Republican Party has been hijacked by Trumpy activists with commitment to no principles, 73 party activists chose a foreign agent of Saudi Arabia who broke the law in his agent registration to lead the South Dakota Republican Party. Those activists chose Dan Lederman as SDGOP chair yesterday over sitting chair Pam Roberts, who had received the endorsement of the Governor and all three of South Dakota’s Republican delegates to Congress.

Governor Dennis Daugaard offers this coded signal of pique at his party’s erosion of respect for morality, patriotism, and rule from the top:

Gov. Dennis Daugaard, tweet, 2017.02.11.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard, tweet via campaign account, 2017.02.11.

stRong?! Check the Governor’s other Tweets: he (or Tony, or whoever hits the buttons) doesn’t make typos.

The subtext is obvious: Capital R… Rong… wRong….

No word yet on whether South Dakota Democratic Party members will respond to this upset by staging its own coup or playing to the advantage of steady and experienced party leadership over the GOP’s choice of radical partisan insurgency.

If you lobby for Saudi Arabia against Americans, then you are definitely part of the Establishment, just like Obama. Republicans conned again!

You can not accuse Lederman of being Saudi, he is in fact of Jewish decent. It is possible that he is tired of the corruption in Pierre. A few years ago he and Rave were the two top Republican leaders in the Senate and both resigned mid term. You would not give up that high of a position unless you were seeing corruption from the very top of the party. If there is another explanation I would like to hear it. This of course does not change the democrats positions on policy but we might get more cooperation on reducing corruption. Those republicans who have been forced to keep their mouths shut, just may have voted in secret for a better day in South Dakota.

Lederman is a better choice than Pam Bobs, who spent her entire career raking in taxpayer dollars with her arse growing roots in government chairs – going from one bureaucrat appointment to the next. Unlike Ms. Bobs, Lederman actually brings some ideas from somewhere other than Pierre. Heck, she didn’t even update the party website with names and photos of current legislators. What was she trying to do … borrow from the old SDDP playbook?

Now, that thing about him being a Saudi foreign agent and developing amnesia about his political contributions. He still has some splainin’ to do. If the national press picks up on that issue they will have a field day. The SDGOP will be the last to know the details of what their “foreign agent”/Sioux City bail bondsman is being paid to do and how much he’s being paid.

Roger E., I’m aware of Lederman’s religious affiliation. But he is a registered agent of the Saudi kingdom.

Ror, how do we get the national press to notice? Do we point out that Lederman appears to be coattailing on Trumpism (see the guy in his road trip video with the Trump cap)?
