Weiland Speaks on Anti-Corruption Act on SDPB Today; Solberg at SF Forum Tomorrow!

Want to know why 24 Republican legislators are dragging us to court over Initiated Measure 22, the Anti-Corruption Act that we approved at the polls last month? You have two good opportunities this week to learn more about what we the voters have wrought.

IM 22 sponsor Rick Weiland will be on SDPB’s Dakota Midday today at noon to talk about the new law’s campaign finance provisions, lobbying reform, and the new state ethics commission that Governor Daugaard isn’t exactly hurrying to appoint.

If you’re in Sioux Falls tomorrow, you can have lunch with IM 22 campaign committee co-chair Darrell Solberg and ask him about IM 22. Solberg is speaking to (DFP sponsor!) Sioux Falls Democratic Forum at noon on Friday at the VFW on South Minnesota.

Has the Attorney General decided if he’ll defend IM22, defer to another counsel or just sit on his thumb and wonder what’s going to happen?
