The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce is holding three candidate forums online at random times, two for the June muni and school board elections and one today, way early, for the Brown County Commission contest:
Each of the candidate forums will be online using Zoom and will also be broadcast using Facebook Live. The county candidate forum starts at 2 p.m. [today, May 14] and will feature Rachel Kippley, Michael Nehls and Duane Sutton. Kippley and Sutton are both Republican incumbents from Aberdeen. Nehls is a Democrat from Groton.

The City Council forum for the three candidates in the Southeast District is Monday at 9 a.m. Candidates include Dennis “Mike” Olson, Tiffany Langer and Dave Welling. Olson is the incumbent.

The school board forum is Tuesday at 1 p.m. and features candidates Kevin Burckhard, Randy Evans, Aaron Schultz and Brian Sharp. Evans is seeking one of three open seats. Burckhard, Schultz and Sharp are seeking re-election.

Let’s hope the Chamber records and posts the video from each forum so we can review those comments at our leisure… and so we can listen to the county candidate forum again five months from now when can actually vote… and when the progression of the coronavirus pandemic and the economic recession may have rendered the guesses offered at today’s forum irrelevant.
