Establishing Sustainable Connections, Think 3D Solutions, Pulso Hispano, GirlTrek – Sioux Falls, SD and Hispanic Business Network joined South Dakota Voices for Justice to host the Sioux Falls Communities of Color Coalition Mayoral Panel, dedicated to discussing diversity in South Dakota’s biggest city. Forum attendees asked candidate Jolene Loetscher why she was at the forum. Her answer shows why she should be mayor:
Forum attendees would’ve asked candidate Paul TenHaken the same question, but he wasn’t there to answer. He declined because, according to an April 12 e-mail to organizers, “Due to the short number of days and number of runoff events we are having, our campaign is trying to limiting [sic] forum commitments to the ones with the broadest audience reach and viewership.” His answer shows why he should not be mayor.
Jolene Loetscher thinks an invitation to a public forum with minority communities in Sioux Falls is worth attending. Paul TenHaken has more important things to do… like accepting seven $1,000 checks from a fellow rich white businessman who uses his children to skirt campaign finance limits.
KELO-TV plans to broadcast a live debate between Loetscher and TenHaken this Tuesday right after the 6 p.m. news.
[Updated 19:05 CDT to include South Dakota Voices for Justice as a sponsor.]
Jolene also attended the Meth Awareness Four Directions Walk on Saturday which was organized by the Native Americans but attended by people of all colors.
Paul, although invited, did not attend.
Well, there goes Paul’s subsequent Sabbath excuse.
