Initiated Measure 22, the Anti-Corruption Act, is the biggest measure on South Dakota’s 2016 ballot, with 70 sections of new statutes and amendments to reform lobbying, impose new limits on campaign contributions, create a public financing option for South Dakota campaigns, and restore a statewide ethics commission to keep all those programs clean and more. This movie is mistitled. The 22 measure is about getting public money to pay for democrat elections because (fact) that lady that runs the Democrat party cannot raise enough money.
False, Grudz! IM 22 isn’t about paying Democratic elections. Among its numerous provisions is a public campaign financing system. Candidates may choose to participate in it or ignore it. IM 22 offers an avenue by which we may keep Big Money from unduly influencing candidates of either party.
