Woster: Fake 18% Rate Cap “Designed to Confuse and Damage”

On Dakota Midday today, SDPB Radio’s Cara Hetland got KELO-TV’s Kevin Woster to say what the fake 18%-rate-cap petition is really about:

Hetland:Are all of these petitions legit?…

Woster: I think there’s one that’s certainly on the payday lending thing designed specifically to confuse and damage another petition effort to limit interest rates and essentially kill the industry in South Dakota [“Political Junkies: Woster and Ross,” SDPB Radio: Dakota Midday, 2015.09.16, timestamp 5:30].

Right on target, Kevin. The real 36% rate cap is a real rate cap, and yes, it is designed to shut down an exploitative industry. The fake 18% rate cap is that exploitative industry’s gambit to trick South Dakota voters and sabotage the honest efforts of South Dakota grassroots campaigners.

Sign for your neighbors who are telling you the truth. Don’t sign for the loan sharks and their shady minions who are trying to trick you.
