Midterm polls and predictions are making Donald Trump desperate. It’s not enough that he tries to buy votes; now he’s trying to buy vote interference:
President Donald Trump is offering $1 million to anyone who reports cases of “voter fraud” in past elections or the 2026 midterms if it leads to a conviction.
“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president said in a social media post.
The announcement represents Trump’s latest attempt to present fraud and illegal voting by noncitizens — a vanishingly rare phenomenon — as a widespread problem that threatens the integrity of U.S. elections [Matthew Kupfer, “Trump Offers $1 Million Bounty for ‘Voter Fraud’ Ahead of Election Day,” Democracy Docket, 2026.10.26].
Funny that the President of the United States is offering a huge bounty to pursue a crime with no demonstrated impact that the status quo has already and throughout our history virtually eliminated. I would think bounties would be much more useful for real widespread crimes with real impacts, like child abuse and sexual assault. How about a million dollars for anybody who can release the Epstein files?
