Late Advice from Rubio: Collective Action More Effective than Unilateral Strikes Against Iran

In a cable to our diplomatic corps, Secretary of State Marco Rubio says international cooperation works better against Iran than unilateral action:

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has directed U.S. diplomats around the world to urge foreign governments to “move expeditiously to diminish the capabilities of Iran and Iran-aligned terrorist groups from attacking our respective nations and citizens” amid an “elevated risk of attack” from the country and its proxies, according to a private cable obtained by ABC News.

…”We assess that the Iranian regime is more sensitive to collective action than unilateral action, and that joint pressure is more likely to compel behavior change by the regime than unilateral actions alone,” the cable says [Shannon K. Kingston, “Rubio Orders US Diplomats to Push Countries for Swift Action Against Iran amid ‘Elevated Risk of Attack’,” ABC News, 2026.03.16].

Maybe Secretary Rubio should have sent that cable to his boss three weeks ago, before his boss started an unnecessary and counterproductive war without consulting our allies. Maybe Rubio should have assessed and argued that point 16 months ago, before his boss started insulting and bullying our closest allies.

And Politico conducted that poll in early February, three weeks before America started bombing Iran.

  1. Marco is gulping down water while writing his thoughts. I’m sure he’s waiting to be provided direction by his highness. Just to be sure. It’s what he does.
