Dismantling of Education Department Facilitates White Supremacy

Remember, part of the reason our Project 2025 White House is killing the Department of Education is that, under previous administrations, the Department of Education was an important force for combatting white supremacists in our schools:

Nearly a year since he took office, the department’s Office for Civil Rights has not entered into a single new resolution agreement involving racial harassment of students, a ProPublica analysis found.

…The OCR regularly resolves dozens of racial harassment cases a year and did so even during Trump’s first administration. In the last days of the Biden administration, OCR workers pushed to close out several racial harassment agreements, including one that was signed by the district the day after Trump was inaugurated. With Trump in office, the agency has shifted to resolving cases involving allegations of discrimination against white students [Jennifer Smith Richards, Megan O’Matz, and Jodi S. Cohen, “Monkey Sounds, ‘White Power’ and the N-Word: Racial Harassment Against Black Students Ignored Under Trump,” ProPublica, 2025.12.19].

Public education provides a setting where we can catch racism early and root it out, replacing it instead with the lesson that democracy depends on including everybody. White supremacists understand that positive power and are using the Trump Administration to dismantle public education and the federal civil rights safeguards that check their hate.

  1. Today is the anniversary of the Wounded Knee Massacre and if Theodore Roosevelt was alive today he would say that the Army should have killed all the Natives.

Chiesman Center for Democracy has known about voter disgust and the hatred for women in South Dakota for at least two decades even as the state boasts the highest fertility rate in the US. Stingy Sioux Falls has even cut funding for its multicultural center and Earth hating Republicans like grud are coming to blows over racial and ideological purity.

Exactly who is asking for these radical changes? Thune, Rounds, Johnson, you in on Project 2025?

Who said Project 2025 is what most Americans want? Congress are you sleeping?

Master, it would be nice to have an open thread now and then, to allow us to vent our spleens, especially on national or other subjects.

Half of the $50 billion fund will be distributed to states equally. Oz said the remaining half will be distributed according to three criteria: 50 percent based on ruralness, 20 percent on state polices and the remaining 30 percent on what the states’ improvement plans are.

  5. Oh those poor white boys. They are horny, no jobs, living in the basement. They are ripe for the picking.
