Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Consolidated into One Building, At Least for One Year

By the way, after all the resistance voters expressed to moving all of their students into one building, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland students and parents have been getting a taste of living and learning under one roof anyway this year. To accommodate demolition and reconstruction of the very old Ramona school, the ORR district is teaching all K-12 students in the Rutland building this school year.

District troublemakers sued to stop construction on the new Ramona building, halting Hausmann Construction’s work with an unusable and unsafe facility in Ramona. According to the ORR board’s dissolution plan, Hausmann planned to finish the Ramona project by August 15, 2026, but the court paused the project last August, meaning that if the ORR board and boosters can thwart opponents’ drive to dissolve the district, ORR kids may have another semester or a full second school year all together in the Rutland building.

Hmmm… perhaps the experience of spending at least a year all working and learning in the same school building will help sway some opponents’ feelings and demonstrate the good practical sense of operating a single school building for the consolidated district.
