SDGOP spin blogger Pat Powers produces very few original or interesting articles. Even the few articles of interest he does produce still hew closely to the interests of his establishment Republican patrons.
But I can’t deny the significance of his report that censured Senator Julie Frye-Mueller committed perjury amidst her Boobgate scandal last winter. Powers reviews video of Frye-Mueller’s claim to the Fall River County Day Dinner last weekend and finds she denies making statements that she admitted making under oath in her futile attacks on the Senate leaders who held her accountable for being really gross:
After Senator Pischke read his speech off, Frye Mueller got up and gave a fish story which I hadn’t heard to date:
“ you could see this was an orchestrated attempt.. and what Senator Schoenbeck.. and yes you’re watching.. and if you are good for you. His goal I believe was to have me hang my head and walk off the floor. And never come back. And that wasn’t going to happen.
Because I believe he’s the one who made up those words, as that staffor didn’t say those words, and I didn’t say them either as in my kangaroo court I testified to.”

Wait a moment.. was this the same Julie Frye Mueller who claimed in a lawsuit that in her speech with the employee was constitutionally protected?
In her lawsuit, Frye-Mueller argues that her conversation with the staffer was political speech protected by the First Amendment, and that her first-of-its-kind suspension came without due process.
Now, despite the legislative hearing with sworn testimony of the employee who related her version of conversation, and the written statement of the employee as part of her original complaint, now Frye Mueller has started to voice a ridiculous claim that Senator Schoenbeck actually authored it? Can we just agree that we can’t ever take right wingers like Frye-Mueller at their word?
The SDGOP circular firing squad is on full display at a Faceberg group called Lawrence County Republicans where people who have parachuted into the state from somewhere else have castigated Lee Schoenbeck and Mary Fitzgerald for being saner than they are. Travis Ismay, Laura Odenbach and the other Earth haters who haunt the page are Trump adherents bent on slaying whomever gets in their way.
Clowns like Matt Monfore and Donald Moeller add additional venom to the group that threatens Rep. Fitzgerald and Sen. Schoenbeck with physical violence so much that Mary fears for her family.
If Republican leaders feel threatened by the violent, unbalanced, megalomaniacs in their Party, it is hard to have sympathy for them. They welcomed these dangerous nuts to their Party and gave them a forum to spread their hate. Yes, there are consequences for currying the support from the idiot right. Once they are under the tent, it’s a bloody mess to move them out.

I am glad I am not a part of a club where Schoenbeck and Fitzgerald are considered saner than their compatriots.
