Who’s voting for Trump? Slightly more of the old, white, and under-educated:
Whites are the only racial group leaning toward Trump. Everyone else generally recognizes Trump is bad for them and for American pluralism.
But the older people get, the more they want Ward Cleaver’s homogeneous America. The younger people are, the more they recognize the need for leaders who accept diversity as America’s destiny, who recognize that America evolves and will look far different in 2050 than it did in 1950.
Education appears to pierce that fear of change. The more school people have, the better equipped they are to recognize qualifications for service high elected office.
So come on, old white people (of whom I am almost one)! Crack some books, change your minds, and do right in the eyes of history by helping us reverse America’s error of the century!
You could be righter than right, as you often are, Mr. H. grudznick is old, and not sticking with Mr. Trump. But you knew that. I hope your statistics are not skewed by this change in data.
I’m in a couple of FB groups that reminisce about the things of our youth. Mostly it’s fun and interesting, but not infrequently enough, some arrogant boomer will comment about how hard life was on the farm and that “these kids today wouldn’t last a day!” (“These kids” is often code for “lazy butt BIPOC who just want welfare.)
I am a boomer and I’d often like to slap those supercilious members of my cohort alongside the head. I’ve commented about the BIPOC younger generations who hold 2 jobs, raise children, care for aging parents and volunteer in their community more than once.
Apparently some boomers have teflon brains to which new information does not stick. 😠😠😠
BTW, the charts make clear why the trump Cult works so hard at destroying educational options in the USA.
Minnesota is a well educated state, hence its blue hue. The SDGOP knows its future success depends on how thoroughly it can diminish educational opportunities in the state and control what is taught in schools.
