On the Biden Train, Everyone Is Important

Why will Joe Biden lead America better than Donald Trump has?

Because, says Amtrak conductor Greg Weaver, who helped take Biden to work for decades, “The average guy is important to him“:

Trump would destroy Amtrak, the Post Office, and other great public institutions that employ and serve the average American, because spoiled rich children figure they can rely in their inheritance to buy whatever they need at any price and not worry about taking care of anyone else. Biden sees himself as part of a community, relying on others as others rely on him to make the government and economy work for everyone.

The “Trump Train” is a metaphor for Trump’s desire to run people over. The Biden train is literally how Biden got to work and back home to his family; metaphorically, it is about Biden’s desire to help everyone get where they need to go.

“The Democratic convention is about improving people’s lives, while the Republican gathering is about improving Donald Trump’s mood. They’re just going to hold an airing of grievances.”

The Democratic Convention has been about hope, optimism, mutuality and trust.

The GOP will be about lies, gloom, lies, doom, lies, I-alone-can-fix-it, damn lies and more ugliness and lies.

They won’t include this grim economic analysis from Axios: is.gd/DPJjFz
    (It ain’t pretty.)

Watching the DNC nightly – all of it not just the local channels 2 hr coverage – I have been mighty impressed by their pandemic format! They have great speakers telling truth bluntly and well, and the time formerly lost to applause and balloon drops has been used wisely. Wonder how next week’s GOP will go?

Build that wall, build that wall…around Steve Bannon.

“Former White House adviser Steve Bannon was arrested on Thursday on charges that he and three others ripped off donors to an online fundraising scheme “We Build The Wall”.
The charges were contained in an indictment unsealed in Manhattan federal court.
Federal prosecutors alleged that Bannon and three others “orchestrated a scheme to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors” in connection with an online crowdfunding campaign that raised more than US$25 million to build a wall along the southern border of the United States.”

Look out Stevey or they will Epstein your sorry behind for stealing from the trump mob and not paying the Consigliere Jared Kushner and his femme fatale, Ivanka ..

Jake, I’m enjoying the DNC too. There’s a lot to be said for videos from all the different locations. It’s very interesting and more personal and intimate.

I haven’t been watching the DNC, but Debbo makes a good observation about how people forced to engage remotely can use the online medium to do things they can’t do in person. What we lose in the chance to gather and cheer en masse, we gain in opportunities to allow more people to participate from their home turf, to share their messages from their personal contexts, to show the things they are fighting for, as the Vilsacks did when they cast Iowa’s votes while showing the derecho damage, the kind disaster that Trump is incapable of responding to and which the responsible public servants of the Biden Administration will work dutifully to address.

McConnell fired a shot across Trump’s portly bow this week so i expect he will be gagged so that the GOP can wreak it’s worst propaganda nxt week unencumbered by their candidate’s stupidity.

Imagine Thune sharpening his blade. Like Bill Murray’s caddy shack character, grinning, going for the exposed achilles tendon.
