Vermillion is among many cities joining the nationwide March for Our Lives demonstration on March 24:
On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today. March with us in Washington DC or march in your own community. On March 24, the collective voices of the March For Our Lives movement will be heard [March for Our Lives Vermillion, Facebook event page, retrieved 2018.03.12].
The Vermillion march meets that Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. They will march to the Clay County Courthouse.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is proposing to turn schools into free-fire zones by spending tax dollars to train teachers to carry and use concealed weapons.
I’m a teacher. I don’t need a gun. I don’t training or extra pay to carry a gun. I need a government committed to adequately funding public education.
I think the March for Our Lives is going to be really big, maybe as big as the Women’s March.
Oh yeah, and HOORAY STUDENTS!!!!
