Marty Jackley: Conservative. Tested. Boring.

Marty Jackley tooty-toot-toots “the first television ad of the 2018 gubernatorial primary,” and naturally, the SDGOP press release blog rushes to post it.

Conservative. Tested. Yeah yeah yeah. I wish Marty would put this one on TV instead, the February video in which his sister Jocelyn calls him boring:

Boring—that’s what South Dakota wants, right?

South Dakota doesn’t want boreholes, why would they want boring?

Jackley. Missing In Action. (Unless there’s political-motivated lawsuit to hurt low-income people that needs another AG!)

Mr. Price, I have not seen you at the dances at the bowling alley for some time, but I am curious if you have an opinion on why Mr. Jackley always seems to be squinting. Do you have one?

“Dances at the bowling alley” – sounds like some sort of interesting euphemism….

I think he is squinting because he’s having trouble seeing his way through what promises to be a very damaging primary season without getting dirt in his eyes. I’m hoping for a replay of the Barnett-Kirby mudfest but this time with Sutton being the beneficiary instead of an ethically challenged insurance man. I wish we the California rules this year — Sutton would win in a walk with Noem and Jackley’s negatives, and the fact that they are splitting the God vote. This year so interesting I may get blogging again.

In his last video, a friend of Jackleys call him “too conservative” at times and now his sister claims he is “boring.” Well, let me just say that his investigations into EB5 and GEARUP have definitely been quite “conservative” and “boring,” in my opinion, too….

Jackley = boring. Noem = invisible. Rounds = questionable. Thune = tall. Wow, SD, is this the best we can do?

Bland conservatism could be the next flavor of the month out in Trumptard-land. Marty has his finger on the pulse of the people. He’s a visionary – forging the shape of our state’s future through the vehicle of strong, yet boring, conservatism.

Do we think the land of the Trumptards is ready to transcend their current loudmouthed idiot culture and choose their next flavor of the month?

Marty might be right about the next conservative flavor – as all this idiot bluster that they just fully embodied over the last few years can’t last forever – they really need to reinvent themselves again to try to find some better core values..

Maybe they could go back to loving the United States of America. Boy, those good old days of W, when they really loved America, those were the days.

Has Jackley “stood up to the federal government” (as the TV ad promotes) or was that limited to standing against “Obama’s federal government?” To me there is a difference between standing up for SD and being a political hatchet man for the national GOP.
